Wanna bet? I have more times than I care to count.
Maybe I should have put a disclaimer. You’re not going to do that without looking silly sitting there bouncing off the limiter waiting for the light to go green.

Sure, you can do it. But it seems pretty impractical for the street.

Pretty awesome for the drag strip though.

lol ok that's not what it sounds like. It holds revs around 2.5-3k...is just a slight growl until you let off the brake. But I do get your point. It's very clear what you're intending to do at that stop light.

Correct. It's not bouncing off a rev limiter. It sounds more like you're rolling an R with your tongue continuously. Would I do it in front of a cop? No. Do I care what any civilian thinks? Not one bit.

It's fun as hell and GM has openly stated you can do it as much as you want without voiding any warranties. Very little wheel spin thanks to the traction control. Just a waste of a little bit of dinosaur juice.

Ah that’s not that bad. Only cars I’ve driven with launch control we’re a GTR and an M5 comp. Neither seemed as easy to set up nor as subtle.

I didn’t get to use the launch control on the M5, but that may be part of the reason it didn’t feel as fast as I was expecting. Only driven one other “10 second” car before and that thing felt significantly faster than the M5 (not using launch control). The other car was a 700 rwhp 03 Cobra with an F1 procharger and drag radials. It was….. terrifying to drive when it hit full boost.

Remember the GTRs and they’re secret ritual to launch them? Only to learn the tranny would blow(that’s what she said) and Nissan voided your warranty lmao

Yup. They did a recall with a less aggressive launch control programming.

If I remember correctly, the original setup would launch around 5500 rpm vs the “revised” one that would limit to around 4K.

Modern turbos do lag, just not as much as they used to. Compared to NA, Supercharged, or EV it’s obvious. I’ve driven a couple of the sedan variants of the SUVs we’re discussing and neither of them have instant boost from a dig or a roll. Now, they’re phenomenal compared to say 15, 20 or, dare I say 30 yrs ago, (looking at you Saab 9000 Aero), but still not instant.
Bro just get a Volvo. Super charged, Turbo Charged, Electric Motor. Why choose just one? Lol

I remember when the first GTR's came out my sister's husband at the time bought one.

1) Don't use launch control because it'll void the warranty. OK so why is it there?
2) Don't go to a track day unless a certified Nissan tech was onsite. Also you have to do a full service before and after the track day or you void your warranty. And the service was like $700 or something crazy.

GTR's at the time were a statement on what a car was capable of, but just be sure you never actually use it.

Drove a V60 Polestar back in ‘17, but it was the 3.0 I6 turbo before they went 2.0TSE haha ? Really liked it but too cramped. She ended up with a Pilot Touring ??‍♂

Yeah they're definitely small feeling which I kind of liked when I was in it. Felt like I could just throw it into a corner with almost no body roll because it was so low.

And actually if they'd offer the damn T6 AWD version I'd do that in R-Design instead of the Polestar too. So stupid they took out the T6 version in the U.S.

Does anyone think we will ever get any more actual GT or GTPE times in this thread, or is it too far gone?
There are a couple new GTPEs released into the wild the last couple days... someone is bound to get frisky this weekend and give us some times.

I think we should retitle the thread “Thread for people waiting for GT 1/4 mile times to be grumpy in.”
