Hi I am considering these two models and am trying to figure out the differences.

I know the GTPE is faster.
I think the GTPE is the only one that has Magneride - is that correct?
The website says the GTPE gets 235 miles vs 270 for the GT, but I have read in this forum that its actually 260 vs 270, is that correct?

I dont really care about which is faster, and wouldnt really want to trade off any meaningful range difference for that attribute alone.

I would love if anyone can advise me on other differences between the two that would help my decision?

Thank you.

GTPE interior has been polarizing, look at interior videos if you care about interiors.

different rims.

maybe different color options.

Pirelli tires on PE - not necessarily an advantage because they might not be as durable or practical as standard tires.

yet to be proven that thereā€™s really any significant performance difference.

but, PE got bigger brakes and magnaride, so maybe handling is better on PE

The GTPE comes with summer tires. I donā€™t want to deal with the hassle up here in the NE. That was a major factor for me to choose GT over GTPE. That and I wasnā€™t big on the GTPE seats.

The rims on the GTPE are lots more attractive than on the GT, BUT that type rim is a lot of work to keep clean. Especially for those of us that don't flex as well as we used to.

At the curr time, there are very few published time slips for the GT and GT-PE. The ones that I have seen posted look very similar between the two trims. So, at least for the drag strip, the GT and GT-PE are the same.

anyone with a POV on the likely impact of Magnaride on the reported firmness of the suspension?
I am specifically referring to the many reports of this car being pretty bouncy at lower speeds...

Night and day between the Premium that I test drove and my GTPE I picked up last week. Maybe it was just the car I test drove, but the Premium definitely had some bounciness I didnā€™t like. Thatā€™s completely gone with Magneride. It does just what I hoped it would do. Granted, Iā€™m staying in Unbridled 99% of the time. The ride does soften a little with with Engage and Whisper but I havenā€™t noticed any bounciness in any of the drive modes.

I know the brakes on the GTPE are clearly labeled Brembo, while the brakes on the regular GT are not labeled Brembo, but looking up a facts sheet from Ford says they are both the same size and both Brembo. Why would Brembo make brakes and not label them as such?

They arenā€™t the same size. The ā€œfact sheetsā€ say ā€œGT with available options,ā€ so itā€™s confusing. They also call them ā€œ19ā€ brakesā€ which is impossible.

There is a very long angry thread about it.

The bounciness of the Mach-E models, with the exception of the GTPE, is due to the shocks not having enough damping...the viscosity of the oil in the shocks is too light. The GTPE's Magneride use sensor-controlled shocks to continuously adjust the viscosity up or down for various conditions, automatically, while you're driving. No bounciness on the GTPE and less on the GT.

Can we change that or you have to just get new shocks? Literally the thing causing me to debate trying to sell my Premium AWD for a GTPE. Drives me crazy!

To me, also much less bounciness and it just handles better, the plain GT as well. Tighter seems more controlled in the case of GT vs Premium.

Iā€™ve only driven the Premium and the standard GT, but the GT had noticeably less ā€œbounceā€ than the Premium.
