Hey y’all!

Long time lurker, first time poster here! I just ordered a Select RWD 2021 Mach E on 09/20 (in Shadow Black, with the Comfort/Tech package). My order finally got accepted by the dealer today ( Serramonte Ford in Colma, CA).

I ordered the 2021 instead of waiting for the 2022 MY since I didn‘t want to risk the additional wait. Does anyone who recently ordered a Select have any idea how much time it takes between the order being accepted and the car being scheduled for production?

No one really knows these days. There was a memo about tech package cars not being scheduled (assumed due to chip shortages). I'd be surprised if you actually get a 2021, but we'll see! People that ordered Premiums in May still are not scheduled.

Not sure about time to delivery but it seems to me that it has lately taken approximately seven months from order date to delivery date. My order was accepted mid-August. I do not expect to get another update until year-end, delivery towards end of 1Q22. Hoping for something sooner, of course.

Dang! This is going to suck! I’m planning a move to Seattle around May next year. I was hoping I’d be able to get the car before the move.

Does anyone know if I’d be able to change the dealer that the car is eventually shipped to?

Once the order is accepted by the dealer, there is no option to switch dealers.
You could still take delivery there and drive it back to Seattle. :)

Or place an order from a dealer in Seattle too. You can take delivery of one and cancel the other order depending on where you are located. I am sure the dealer will be more than happy to accept cancellations in the current climate.

I am in a similar situation myself. I contacted the local ford dealer where I'm looking to move and they said I would need to call corporate to move the order but it is possible since the order is still "In progress" stage (step 2 on the order progress screen). I also had them confirm in email regarding x-plan and adm. They also said it shouldn't affect my queue position but to confirm with Ford.

You can call 800-334-4375 to change your dealer. Our dealer code is 71S100. No mark up for the person who has ordered. Yes, we honor X-plan on Mach-e orders.

You might just check on available inventory as well. Around me, there's a couple of Select RWD's in stock or arriving soon. That's how I got mine in July. The Ford website was also updated so you can expand the radius from 100 miles to 500 miles. Depending on your situation you could also do the same search for the Seattle area in May.

Were you able to get one without ADM? I’ve had a terrible time, with dealers charging anywhere between $5k-$20k for “market adjustment”

Save yourself some money and don’t buy the car in CA.

Can you elaborate?
CA has awful taxes and fees, not to mention you will pay registration/plates in CA then have to pay again in Washington. Registration alone will be a chunk of change.

Yes, you may have better luck with trying to find a select rwd that has been canceled for a ‘22 order. Keep your order but keep hunting, as there are a lot of selects around, and you may find one with California rebate available. Just make sure everything is in writing.
, including no previous owner.good luck. You may get it sooner than you think.

They might all say ADM but you can negotiate it away. I got one without the dealer's $5k ADM because I had a Lightning preorder at the same dealer with an assigned sales rep. I emailed my sales rep and asked about getting rid of the ADM and they agreed right away. So that could be an option since the preorder is just a $100 refundable deposit.

The other option (since you're not in a rush) is to sign up for Mustang Club of America now ($35) and in 90 days you'll be eligible for x-plan pricing. Then find a dealer that honors x-plan and you should be able to get one off the lot cheaper than MSRP.

For whatever reason, I do see tons more select when I search Inventory. Anyone know why? Just more Selects ordered by people who cancel?

I’ve already signed up for MCA! But I had no idea there were dealers honoring X-plan on existing inventory. I’ve spoken to 3 dealers and all of them suggested that they only offer X-plan on orders.
