Ok guys...check me here. The GT brakes sure look to me to be the same size as the premium when seeing the caliper clearance and how much heat shield is visible versus the GTPE.

This is pretty messed up if so as all the specs indicated the GTPE brakes are the same as the GT.

Can a GT and GTPE owner go measure their rotors to confirm?

Consider yourself checked.

Same on both. And regular MMEs have the same Brembo front calipers, just in cast aluminum finish rather than painted/Logo’d. I’d imagine/hope the PE receives a more aggressive pad compound than the GT/Select/Premium. I suppose a quick part # check could confirm pad differences.

I've seen all the same marketing material when I was researching. My eyes are not jiving with what the material says as the visible heat shield matches how much you see of it on the Premium but the GTPE rotor size matches the heatshield behind it.

We need a quick measurement from owners of each of the cars to confirm.

But the GTPE calipers are definitely 100% not the same. Already confirmed there's a different part number, and the size of the caliper is larger to accommodate the larger rotor. The clearance to the wheel is less as well. (we checked in another thread)

There is definitely a larger OD rotor and a corresponding caliper, just haven't been able to confirm if you get that on all GT, or only GTPE. I think I'd prefer the smaller brakes, then I'd be able to run an 18" winter wheel.

The GT and lesser models appear to be the same caliper if we can go off the ford part's weight. (both 11.45 lbs)
GT: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/brakes/other-brake-parts/disc-brake-caliper-13661275-1
MME: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/brakes/other-brake-parts/disc-brake-caliper-13660615-1

The GTPE Caliper is 11.7 lbs (also 80 dollars more than the GT Caliper)
GTPE: https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/brakes/other-brake-parts/disc-brake-caliper-13979841-1
The calipers are all the same except for finish. I’m not quite sure what the issue is here. GTPEs probably have more aggressive brake pad material though. What is the specific problem?

I put my GT PE VIN in and the first two links are marked as not for my vehicle. The third one is for the GT PE. But, the part numbers are different between the MME and GT. Some weird Ford parts voodoo.

Follow along. The Calipers are not the same. We've already measured. The caliper is larger to accommodate the larger rotor. The GT and MME caliper weights are the same. The GTPE caliper weight is slightly more.

We can then logically put 2 and 2 together on the rotors.

The links clearly are for MME and GT/GTPE not MME/GT and GTPE.
The Rotor for GT/MME only states MME. But put 2:2 together with the Calipers. The Calipers for the GT and MME are grouped together (aside from red)

The GTPE rotor specifically states performance edition.

This is really simple guys. We have GT and GT PE owners. In the time it takes you to reply to this thread, go pick up a tape measure instead and go measure your rotor from hub to end.

.25 lbs more? And you’re drawing conclusions on that? What if that’s boxed weight and the fancier PE Brembos get a packing insert to protect them better?

Ford's usual crisp and clear communications strike again. I still have my 1998.5 SVT Contour. Ford parts lists 3 different oil filler caps for this particular car. The closest dealer couldn't figure it out, so got all 3. Two work, one doesn't. Ahhhh

No, I'm drawing conclusions on what I see, what the part numbers show, what the part numbers weights correspond to, and what we measured previously.

Now, you are welcome to contribute by...perhaps taking some quick measurements of your own calipers and compared to @EELinneman's GTPE. We could at least settle whether or not MME and GTPE calipers are the same size...

I know some people would rather just bicker online but I'm really not interested.
