It is presently the King of the Mach-E Hill performance wise.
I know......... but it is always better to own a worker, not a king

I can only speak for me personally. I can't speak on behalf of anyone else. When I was 16 my dad put me in racing school driving formula Fords. I've always purchased vehicles with the performance packages because I enjoy the thrill. To this day, my dad still races in events with Porsche club and I go and race with him when I can.

The GTPE is fun on acceleration. Personally, I think it's a tank and I would much much rather drive my SQ5 on a windy road over the MME. So to answer your quesion. If I had anything other than the GTPE I would be jealous of those with it, I would want it for the performance aspect. I wanted an MME in January but I knew the aforementioned would get to me, so I waited patiently.

As you said, range is fewer miles and to some range may be the determining factor. Many people here have told me to drive under the speed limit to get better range. That's just not in my blood. So while you might be focused on range I am more focused on the fun, pleasure and excitement that I get from driving the car.

When forking over 65K on a car, what's the additional 5K worth knowing that when I see a GTPE that is not mine, would have started second guessing myself...

The smaller range is not a factor for me because i can always compensate by driving dynamics but the seats and the magnaride are unique.

The GTPE would be my last choice of all the trim levels..... so there are likely many of us who aren't crazy for it. That being said.....if other people like it then they should get one and be happy. Either way it still is better than polluting. ?

Dang, my 2015 base Model S only does 3.9s since a cca. 2018 WiFi garage overnight software upgrade.

Never drove an automatic, I was a 6MT rear biased Haldex eLSD AWD fanatic R32, S60R, TurboX, S4 was my progression.

Still aching for a post-2013 7MT 911 4S though.

OK Bob, now shut up and stop showing off!

Last thought, Mach-E still top of list for the 2023 EV swap, rooting for the non-Tesla Level 3 charging network, will have to become on par for pain free long distance travel.

For me it was a better looking front fascia than the Premiums, better looking wheels than the standard GT, Magneride suspension, and even though the performance boost is slight and was only noted as slight before the whole controversy, I wanted the fastest one. I’ve always driven performance based cars. I knew I wouldn’t be happy with other models. As far as range, even if I only squeeze 250 miles out of it, that’s 4 hours of driving at 60mph. At that point, a break is a good thing for me, so why not grab a bite to eat?

Given the inability to charge near 100%, and the reality that most don't want to go close to zero, and highway speeds, a range of 250 miles is not feasible except maybe on the departure from home at 100% charge. Driving for 3 hours is the best most should plan on, and closer to 2.5 for many.

We've done close to 5,000 highway miles. Starting out from 100%, we got 175 miles in 3 hours once, and were at 18% when we stopped.

The other reality is location of charging stations. Can you find a fast charging location located at where 90 or 95% of your battery is depleted (i.e. going from 100% to 10% or 5%)? Likely not in many places.

Also, remember that fast charging fees (once you've used up your free hours) vary greatly on the EA network. Some states are by kWh, 31 cents per if you use the Pass+ plan. Many states are by minute, 24 cents if you use the Pass+ plan. The per minute states are roughly 1/2 the cost (15 - 17 cents per kWh in our experience). So, if you're driving through a bunch of states, you may choose to charge just enough in the high cost state to get to the first EA charger in the low cost state and then go to 80% (or higher when we can go higher).

I love my Premium EX4 but it's mostly a commuter car and quite honestly the GTPE would work perfectly in my situation. I didn't get one because I didn't want to wait or spend the additional cash when 0-60 in 4.7ish range is good for me. I see this no different in getting a high performance gas car, if you plan on taking that car on a trip, you'll make more gas stops, if you want to take the GTPE on a road trip, then more charging stops. I don't believe people that go that route see that as unexpected.

When "fastest" and "60mph" are used in the same post, something is not right :D

I know......... but it is always better to own a worker, not a king
1. Seats
2.rims
3.magnaride
4.better looking to me
5. My worker for long haul be my hybrid aviator and worker would be one of my trucks.
6. Because I can what is an extra 5k on a 65k car and the rims to me are worth 2k because I don't like the others so that's what I would easily spend for a nice set. Why do they make so many f150s or literally any car because 1 does not fit all. This is my daily driver I like a car having all the features. And hopefully a Lil different then most of them. I like when different trims look different. I'm not a fan of the car looking the same every trim
7.also because 'Merica'
