My MME shows 61% Charge Level on Battery Icon, and Estimated Distance 106 miles Est Distance BOTH on Dash and App.. Should I go by Battery 61% or 106 miles Est Distance?
This happened after coming out of Deep Sleep for 2 months.. when came out it was accurate to 270 miles @ 80%... I drove it and ran it down to 50% and this is what I get now.. so bottom line is, do I go by miles Est Distance or by remaining battery % at 61%.. I don't like range ANXIETY ! :)
Thanks in Advance

You should look at your most recent miles per kWh and do the math, leaving a cushion.

If the car says you're getting 2.6 miles per kWh, drop that to 2.2, and use 41% battery (20% left at end) and do the math.

88 x .41 x 2.2 = 79 miles. Plug in your numbers.

OK I will try it, but why did this happen?

Weather has been in 50 degrees plus.
Not according to weather I looked at. 30, 32 at night. Read the many threads on cold weather.

Exactly.
Here, it’s been 30 at night, 50 for the daily high. My range is down 30-35% from summer temps. That’s with E-heat always on and HVAC set to auto.

Yes, weather has been down at night, but car was in heated garage.. so, I guess it will straighten itself out.. Strange indeed, as my Tesla Model Y charging is the same daily and the mileage has only a slight drop.. I will Park the MME until spring time... Thanks for all the immediate responses.. I LOVE the MME though..
Thanks again..

Go by the battery percentage. The miles you are seeing are from what is nicknamed the guess-o-meter (GOM). It is a conservative projection of range based on driving history. It is dynamic and often changing day to day, week to week.

Particularly if the vehicle has not been touched for two months, the GOM might be a bit off, however, know that depending on driving style, you may often fall short of the EPA range (for example, if 90% of your miles are spent at 85mph on the freeway, you will be way below EPA range).

Also, as others have said cold weather reduces your range - 50s is suboptimal for an EV.

My garage is heated, also. That doesn’t change the dynamics of driving in the cold. It gives you a bit of a head start, but there is still significant range loss.

So, Is it safe to go by the charge level 59% if GOM says 106 miles? Will I die on the Highway? :)

Go by the percentage. That's the amount of energy available to you. When you tap the tile that shows how you've been consuming energy you will see more details. For example, it might tell me that I'm losing 7% of my energy due to temps ... but losing more due to heating the cabin (That's usually where more of the energy goes). Take advantage of heated seats & steering wheel and keep the cabin temp on the low side. With heated seats the cabin doesn't need to be very warm (I actually have to turn mine down to around 65° or I'm too warm with the seat heater on.)

As you drive ... watch the miles per kiloWatt.. That's more reliable.

ALSO... if you leave your car plugged in overnight then do a remote-start about 10-15 before you need to leave (or set a departure schedule if you always leave at the same time). This will cause the car to use your house AC power to pre-heat the cabin without taking anything from the battery.

Yes, go by the battery, just understand that how fast the battery drains isn’t constant, it depends on how you’re driving.

Think of your smartphone, it drains a lot quicker if you are playing a video at max brightness and volume versus looking at a webpage in lowest brightness with no video playing and no sound. Same principle with your Mach-E.

go by the battery percentage; the guess-o-meter is wrong. and yes there are 3 to 5 of these threads a week for the last month as the temps got cooler.

Thanks for the info, I will ignore miles and just look at Battery %. If I brick on the road with just watching battery %, I will call you for a Tow.. :)
P.S I see that percentage and that is what I thought. How can it die if I go by %
