This is a question for those folks who have been keeping track of the TSBs, etc. and know what modules need updating.

This one isn't just for me. I see value in having lots of us forewarned about what we need the dealer to update rather than leaving it up to chance (or mechanic). Lots of us are going in for windshield/front window recall work, others for 10,000 mile service. In my case Marlin is going in for both.

When I take Marlin in next week, what updates should I ask for?
Thanks.

It depends on what issues you are experiencing and what DTC codes might be stored. If you explain the symptoms then they can look for a match and apply the appropriate solution which may be a module update.

Also, you can ask them to check for active DTCs and the PTS will automatically link the appropriate TSB if applicable.

I would ask for the 21P22 update which should include almost everything from previous updates in one package (it's like a Windows service pack). Up to 12 modules updated. Besides that, the only remaining big ones would be:

IPMA - For lane assist/centering and collision alert issues (really slow update, takes several hours)
APIM - This is the sync module, ask for it if you are having trouble getting the 1.7.1 OTA update.

Those last two take a longer time so they aren't really billable unless you have issues related to them specifically. Dealers are instructed to 21P22 during the next regular service visit so should you shouldn't even have to ask for it (although I would).

Spoke with my dealer this week & they told me they have yet to get instructions from Ford about the Glass roof & Windshield repair. I guess if your getting that my dealer is fibbing to me?

Maybe. Or Ford sent it out and the dealer hasn’t found it yet.

I agree with @Mach-Lee. 21P22 updates + IPMA + APIM (if you haven't gotten 1.7.1). Should be able to get them to do those at no charge if you say the right things.
Thank you. Is the DSP update for the stereo sound included in 21P22?

The DSP update is not included. You could try to get them to include it by saying you had the radio lock up, read that pulling the fuse solves the problem - which you did. Then reference the SSM for the DSP issue. They should be able to do that update too then if it exists for your car.

Would anyone be able to tell me if my vehicle has any needed updates? It's already at the dealer.
