oh damn! Thanks for the heads up, this is terrible! I hope that something can be done because the seriously damaged your car. I did have the parts on order to have the recall done but will check with my dealership to see what body shop is supposed to do the repairs. I may hold off getting this done until I can see quality work coming out of the body shop.

On that last pick it looks like they chipped the top glass. (that glass might be mighty expensive)

I feel so sorry for the original poster. When I first read about the recall and posted my opinion on a couple of the earlier threads, I said that I was glad I ordered a GT without the panoramic roof. My wife didn't like it on the Premium we test drove, not only making her feel car sick when looking up at trees passing over while riding in the backseat, but also the fact that we had a vehicle with a sunroof leak like crazy back in the day. She said either i needed to figure out a way to get one without the pano...hence how I ended up in a GT, (couldn't quite convince her about the need for the magnaride, so no gtpe. ?) Or I could find some other BHEV.

Looking at how badly these guys mutilated that car I thank God I made that decision. One more point on a car for a issue like this to develop, or having to be replaced down the road if it breaks or cracks from damage. I wish they'd let you do the same thing on the Premium trims. Make it an option for the roof, not a mandatory one of "you're going to get this, because all the other companies are doing it!"

The panoramic glass roof isn't even supposed to be removed to perform the recall.
I wonder if that dealer also removes the seats in order to rotate the tires?

Haven’t called our dealer about this yet but have there been ANY actual reports of windshields or roofs flying off these cars?

I hate that I need to get the recall done. Was having issues with my pano glass roof and dealer said my problem was a symptom of the recall. So it's in for service.

Hoping mine doesn't end up the same as this! Mine is #3 at the dealership, so they at least got 2 others to practice and get right before mine!

FWIW, I had my roof replaced in September due to a defective glass. It was done perfectly and the only one my dealer had done. I’m pretty certain it was done by a glass company.
The bad news is that it was done just before the recall came out, so I suspect that the recall steps likely still need to be done. I guess it’s possible that the glass company realized that the original installation was sub-par and corrected for it. I need to have a discussion with my service manager.

My roof was redone pre-recall as well; so I was happy to hear they won't have to redo it. The dealership mangled the interior the first time and kept my car for a few months waiting for parts …but the glass shop they sent it to did a great job. I was going to skip having the windshield done, but then I noticed there's a break in my rear window washer tubing (it just sprays into the headliner now) so I might as well have the windshield fixed while their goons are already taking it apart.

100 mile an hour tape fixes everything. Ask any NASCAR team…

In all seriousness, this looks worse than a high school auto shop class.
