How can I see my build date?
Sponsored
it is hard to know the exact date that the assembly of your vehicle actually began, but you can get an idea of the soonest it might have been by looking at your window sticker... in this area, example below from mine, 9/24/2021 seems to be when the build was queued. How can I see my build date?
To my understanding, the Calendar year doesn't have anything to do with the Tax Rebate. It is when Ford Motor Company reaches 200,000 sales of EV's. The people affected by this recall will most likely need to carry over the Tax Credit to 2022 but the Rebate will still be there assuming your job status income stays the same or goes up.Withholding less is a great idea assuming your car qualifies next year, that still up in the air
Interesting so you can sign the purchase order & put it "in service" this year. But you're just immediately leaving it at the dealership to perform work and thus you can't drive it, yet you own it.All --
I went to purchase/pick up my MME this morning, and when I was going through the final purchasing process, they ran a check to make sure there were not critical recalls on the car. Lo and behold, yesterday afternoon Ford released a critical safety recall on the seat belt assembly. Because of that, the dealership could not legally let me take the car home until its fixed. So, the good news is that I own the car, get the 2021 tax rebate, and got a brand new car to use as a loaner.....the bad news is that I can't take my car home for what looks like another two weeks. I asked if I could sign something acknowledging that they had told me about the recall and I accept the risk, but they said it wouldn't fly.
So, just a heads up another recall is out there.......
My car is a Select with the Tech/comfort package. Space White. Build date was 11/08
my comment is related to the new proposed tax bill. Build Back Better. If it passes the senate and that is a big if and if it stays relatively the same thru reconciliation the premium MME might not qualify if the EPA keeps the classification as a small station wagon. A lot of ifs but they are real possibilities. To my understanding, the Calendar year doesn't have anything to do with the Tax Rebate. It is when Ford Motor Company reaches 200,000 sales of EV's. I ordered mine in November with an expected delivery date around late June. Because I am now in queue, I think mine would even qualify. I am most certain that those that get theirs in the next few months should be good to go.
If you don't get yours until late 2022 I am guessing it will be real close for the rebate. Even so, you would at least get a partial rebate. They phase it out over a couple quarters.
Got it. Still, I don't see the Senate passing it until March at the earliest and I would assume there would be a Grandfather clause if you purchased it on the "old" plan before and if it were to pass?my comment is related to the new proposed tax bill. Good luck. They won't give out second fobs for a design flaw so many have experienced with Paak.@Ford Motor Company - meaningful monetary compensation for consideration of a 12-month delay in being able to receive our tax credit would be the right thing to do here. I'm thinking of some cash upfront rebate, or a lowered APR on for Ford Options plan would be fair. Token additional charging credits would not.
right now the bill says the effective date is after 12/31/21. believe it or not it can stay the same which is not good news or it can change it to be effective on date of signing.Got it. Not sure if anyone knows that answer but I take your point of not being certain if the purchase carries over to 2022.
That does suck for the people on the razors edge before Jan. 1st.
If your MME is at or near the dealer, ask your salesperson to run your VIN against this recall. Not all vehicles built in this window are affected, it seems. I spoke to my rep a couple hours ago and our VIN is not on the list. There may be others that are cleared for delivery.Went in to be first pickup today at dealership. They won't sell us car since Ford announced a recall on all mach e from oct 3rd till now for a issue with rear seatbelts.
The dealership pretty much told us at best we can expect it Jan 3rd for a fix, so anyone who hasn't gotten car, has no chance of getting it this year.

TO be honest, I don't think they were supposed to sell it to me. I just don't think they knew what they were doing.....and I was insistent on how upset I was that I payed for a uber/wasted my time/etc etc to come there and get my car and now they can't give it to me. I was purposely dramatic! I think that played into me getting a loaner for two plus weeks while I wait for the car as wellInteresting so you can sign the purchase order & put it "in service" this year. Was yours actually built in the stated time period and confirmed as "not affected"?If your MME is at or near the dealer, ask your salesperson to run your VIN against this recall.
