Mach-E GT - Grabber Blue (Due 11/14)

Ford just emailed me to tell me my delivery date has changed from 11/8 - 11/14 to 12/5 - 12/11. December 7th at 8:30 EST they email to say the car will be between 2 days ago and 4 days from now. Lol, just funny they would just now decide to update the delivery date.

I figure laughing is better than crying...lol
Well my car is real, it actually exists and is at my dealer. I have personally seen it and sat in it...
But I cannot pick it up until Friday. Came in today but they got a truck with 13 cars yesterday too. So there are a bunch in line ahead of me all with waiting customers.

But it is real it does exist and I was able to active my Ford Pass for it. So I can keep tabs on it or something while I anxiously wait for 9am Friday morning... lol

GT (non PE), glass roof, co-pilot 360, grabber blue.

So it was funny the dealer said they got 13 vehicles in yesterday and then the truck with my car today. Almost every car they got was a customer order. So of the cars they got yesterday and today wouldn't you know they got another GT grabber blue in, but the PE. Just funny that they got 2 in in two days that are the same color.

My dealer got deliveries in pretty much on consecutive days for 4 days before mine was delivered, plus the day mine was delivered. Mine was their first GT-PE. They sold several GTs prior to mine and said that one sat on their lot for over a week before it was sold. I did not see another Grabber Blue MME on their lot when I picked mine up. ??

My red GTPE was finally delivered to the dealer over the weekend(I may have been driving by every day) and I picked it up today. My dealer experience, Gengras in Plainville CT, was pretty good with no markup and the whole process went smooth. Of course it started snowing within about 30min of me picking it up. Hakka winter tires are already in, just need to be put them on. My wife commented after her first ride in the snow, "It's like you are floating along."

Poked my dealer for another update on my GTPE that's been on chip hold since 10/4. The news is not good.

Per his Ford rep:
We have been advised that there are two sets of vehicles being held in the vicinity of the Mach E plant awaiting microchips or related components. The estimated time to complete shipping for one group is December 31st. The ETA to complete shipping for the other group is March 31st.

The difference between the two groups are the specific components they are waiting on. But they won’t tell us which are which. Vehicle Visibility status for this VIN has been unchanged in the past week.
I struggle to understand why Ford would've produced a car at the beginning of October with no expectation of having the components to finish it 3 months later. Why not switch over to producing the cars you did have supply for?

Perhaps part availability forecast changed while these builds were in progress. I think this is the likely explanation.

Sorry, late arrival here. I have a 10/8 build date, and I've tracked my car on NS all the way to Massachuseets, but now it's at an 'undefined' interim stop.

Perhaps. Six months to replenish that component though. I can't imagine taking ownership of a car that sits in a field for 6 months, and you're already in Q2 of the next model year when it arrives. That's a rough financial penalty on a process which already hits hard (new car depreciation).

My wife’s grabber blue was built early this week. GTPE. Due about 2/12. I love the blue.

My problem is I have a different color one built 12/23 and due about 2/5. Should I take the one 2 months newer?

Take whichever one would make you the happiest based on the options on the car. ??‍♂?

Again, sorry about hijacking this thread with Non-GT builds, but (again) this appears to be the only October 4 week build post.

Update: I'm hoping that all of us Premium Extended Range AWD order holders have seen progress. My original in production date was 10/5, and I finally got a "built" notification on my order (Iconic Silver) on 12/27. I also got a "shipped" notification on NYE, and an updated estimated delivery date of 2/10/2022 (Wisconsin). Here are some things that I learned, and thought I would share:

1) From what I was told, it appears that Ford was "kinda stacking" and not "queueing (first in, first out)" the chip hold cars for the parts when they were available. Ford had stated that while they would "try with best effort" to get the chips into the cars that were put on hold for the longest, it depended on how they had parked them in the storage lot, and how hard it was to get them back into production to get the chips installed (I think?). Either way, for an order holder that was put on chip hold...SUPER FRUSTRATING, as it felt like my order had about 50 billion other cars around it. Yeah...that's TOTALLY accurate...don't dispute me :).

2) The rear seat hold didn't help matters either. While it was unclear if this week's production was affected, it appears that some of the cars might have been moved into the US to complete the recall/repair/whatever it is since it hasn't left Ford's hands. Again, everything was in flux and this could be different car to car...just to add to the confusion and frustration.

I will say, that my dealer handled all of this in a great manner, and I total understand that this isn't the dealer's fault. In the end, I ended up finalizing the purchase on NYE, just so that I could get the tax credit into 2021. While it sucked to do so without the actual Mach E, I figured it wasn't so terrible, as the car was completely built and "shipped". Hopefully, it comes in January, before my first finance payment is due in mid-Feb.

Good luck to all of you with outstanding orders without built Mach-E's!

Well, more than three months after my scheduled build week, my GT PE finally arrived at the dealer yesterday after sitting at a rail depot for 45 days. Finalizing the deal on Thursday and then going straight to get snow tires put on it. :) It appears I am not subject to the recall for the rear seatbelt mounting.
