Is the included charger not sufficient?

I found the Porsche charger manual, and it's not 100% clear to me yet. On the back of the charger, it states that the input is "110-250V 16A" and out put is the same.

On the specs, the rated current is 16A for the 3.6kW on board charger, and 30 A 2-phase for the 7.2 kW. Not sure what that means exactly. I've attached a copy of the electrical specs.
It looks like it either comes with, or you can purchase, the pigtails that correspond to the "Plug Variants" line on that page.
Just the like the Ford Mobile charger, depending on which pigtail you use, the unit will deliver a different amount of power.
If it has a J-1772 connector on the car end of the cable, its fine to use with a Mach-E or any electric vehicle. Use the pigtail that matches the outlet that you have installed.

In order to get 3.6KW at 120V, you would need a special pigtail and plug it into 2 separate 120V, 20A circuits. People have reported doing this with the Ford Mobile EVSE, but it only yields about 2.8KW because the 120V rating is 12A instead of 16.

2-phase is not the correct description. Forget that - it's all about the applied voltage.

I looks like the maximum output with the 240V connector is 16A, so it should work fine with my circuit and the MME.

I finally broke down and purchased a second EVSE charger. Because of our experience last week when the weather was very cold and the range dropped so much I figured I DO need the Ford Mobile Charger in the car with me at all times. Even if I were to use the 110 volt adapter and charged the car for several hours at my daughter's house it would be enough to get me to a Level 2 charger in her town (Charge Pointe) or maybe even the DC charger in Aurora. I ended up buying a Mustart Travel Master 32 amp charger. It has an LED screen which shows a lot of data as to how the car is charging. It isn't a "smart" charger and doesn't connect to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. My first choice was a Juice Box 40 amp charger but they were too expensive (the "Boss" had a fit when she saw how much they wanted) and the Mustart got decent reviews so I purchased it last night from Amazon. I also put together an emegency kit in the frunk consisting of a gallon of water, a bed pan, a bright lantern, matches, a large candle, Sterno, a blanket, 3 cans of soup, 2 cans of fruit, energy bars, toilet paper, wet wipes, disposable cups, and plastic silverware. The kit is in a cloth bag so I can move it to the Acura when needed. Now the Ford Mobile Charger will go in there as well. I feel like I'm finally using the frunk for something useful. EDIT 1-24-2022 Canceled order with Amazon this morning before unit was delivered after carefully reading the review on this EVSE. I don't want to risk having a problem; I don't like that they tell you to unplug if it is not being used; and I don't like that it is neither UL or CL certified (messaged them and asked and they replied no they aren't certified - not even Generation 2 units). I am now thinking of the Girzzl E charger that is 40,36,24 or 16 amps (set with dip switch internally) as I have a 50 amp GFCI breaker with #6 AWG hot (2) and neutral (1) wires and a #10 AWG ground (1) wire. I'll set it to 40 amp which will charge the car a little faster then the current 32 amp Ford Mobile Charger.

I've read so many posts on here about different charging stations people have purchased for the Mach E and it's left me with the question as to whether or not the included charger is inadequate?

I've never had an EV and am patiently awaiting the arrival of mine this spring. I have an electrician coming to wire a 240 outlet and from what I can tell the included charger will give me adequate charging speed for my needs.

Is the only reason to go buy a different type gaining visibility on power draw from my meter or what else would I be getting?

Thanks in advance!
I use the standard charger. We just decided that we did not need a smart charger. Takes about 8-9 hours from 20% to 90% on our 50-amp dedicated circuit.

I bought a juice box 40 and keep my mobile charger with the vehicle. The juice box has worked really well since last April. I had a new electric line installed in my garage and the tax credit/rebates were really helpful

I bought a Canadian made, non Chinese made Grizzly charger. It is simple, runs on 50 amp plug, cost 500$. It works well, I am not sure why you would buy one with wifi, etc, since the car and app do a great job managing charging. This unit is simple, heavy and attractive. And non Chinese, I think its useful to keep industry surviving in North America, for the inevitable day China plays hardball with us. This unit is awesome and charges significantly faster than the Ford charger with car, plus this allows you to keep it packed nice in car for when you need on the road.

My 5 year old JuiceBox is wifi connected. I can use my ENEL phone app and check any time whether the charging is actually happening, how many miles have been added, and it is programmed TOU in addition to the car being programmed. It also has buttons on it that can override the programmed times and get a daytime charge (I have solar) if I need a boost outside TOU settings. It also gives me a historical record of every charge I have made using it. And it provides a summary of energy used by day, week, month, year. But, then, I am an engineer and geek out on that kind of data for relaxation... Full disclosure, power company paid for the install 5 years ago as part of a pilot project to obtain data on actual usage by an EV owner (I had a CMAX Energi at the time).
The car app pretty much does the same thing, and you can buy a simple durable charger: (Dumb Charger)

You're delirious. You said "the car and the app do a great job managing charging". Are you kidding? FordPass has major issues. Server problems, etc.

As noted, many buy the charger their utility company offers incentives for. Mine JuiceBox 48, faster than any of these, was $677 - $500 rebate - 30% tax credit = $124. Much less than $500...

Has great reporting, I can override things easily, I can change the amps from 48 down to whatever I want, I don't have to worry about Ford's servers, ...

Only point I haven't seen raised is outdoor installations if you don't have a garage. The hardwired unit is going to be safer and hold up much longer than the mobile unit sitting out in the rain, snow, and ice.
I was worried whether the FMC was GFC protected. My Juice Box def is. I got a SR battery so treated myself to the better charger with the money saved. The fact that I can write it off is very nice too.
I found an unexpected advantage. I bought an adaptor for my dad's 30a dryer outlet for when I go visit him. The Ford charge is not adjustable, but my Juice box can be adjusted to draw 24 a for a 30a circuit. If you use your Ford charger, you will trip the breaker - or worse!! Watch out for that important fire hazard!!

Delirious or not, the car has always charged seamless for me, in fact I am in Mexico watching my dealer plug it in today from the app. I texted the service department thanking them for plugging it in at 8:15 am today, and he laughed back saying he knew I would be wathing. I am 2500 Miles away in Mexico, and I know when my dealer plugged it in, what status of battery is, how many KV went in battery, and I turned off charging myself from my app when battery hit 90%. Then I locked the doors. If I can do all that from Mexico, and cant even program a remote for a tv, I am not sure what that says about your abilities with an app. LOL> serious, no offense, but mine works well, and I suck at IT, I have employees set up new phones for me, and I got this thing going by myself. However mine is an October build. But I will say, I am pretty relaxed on things like this, knowing it is a new product and I signed up to be a crash dummy buying on first model year.

I have never had an issue or know anything about Ford servers, I just use the car and the app when I want and it works.

I clearly have so much to learn! I thought that you COULD set charging schedules with the Ford provided charger and Ford Pass. We do have time of use charges/rates for electricity so I will definitely need to be able to program.
Yes big difference in PA Super off peak 11 pm to 6 am 2 cents vs peak 1 pm to 9 pm. 9 cents. I have Wallbox because Ford didn’t have any level 2 chargers available when I bought my MME last June.

Best thing about a non-wifi (dumb) charger is that it works even if you don't have internet service. It just needs electricity!
