Mine stays in place fine. If yours won’t stay, have your dealer check it out.

Mine popped open after going through a car wash. Then another time through again a couple weeks later it got completely ripped off. It's gone! Just the little tether piece dangling.

Dealer told me it isnt warranteed cause it doesn't have anyone's attention at Ford?! Quoted $125 to fix a part that can't pass a car wash test? Starting to escalate to friends in Dearborn.

I‘m not sure what they mean by that.
He meant he won't write it as a warranty.claim and I have to pay for a broken part. In my opinion For this happening on several cars there is either a problem with the part, the bracket it attaches to, or an installation of the two. If something breaks or falls off the car during normal use and within the bumper to bumper warranty period it should be covered.

I understand the "isn't warranty" part. But I don't understand the "doesn't have anyone's attention at Ford" part. Are they saying that they submitted it to Ford and they denied the warranty claim?

I see an opportunity for an aftermarket part. It could be 3d printed for like 50 cents. Something bright yellow with a customizable logo! lol

Ford: Putting car washes out of business one EV at a time.

DUH... ya think they could have made this any less sturdy?

The part number for that access cover is LJ8Z-17E811-AAPTM (non GT model like yours) and it runs about $16. It comes primed and ready to paint.

Note: All bumper parts come primed (most all exterior parts also) and need to be painted. Ford (and all other manufacturers) would have to have a massive stock of parts if they carried every part in every color for every vehicle they made?

I would suggest finding a touchless car wash as they won't scratch your paint (over the years) and you wont have that access cover come flying off. I agree it does not take much to remove that cover but if your car wash did that, there must have been a lot of pressure on the brushes against that area.

I'm guessing some of those covers are more secure than others where they attach to the bumper. In the 9 months I had my Premium, never had mine give me problems and I use a pressure washer when I wash my car or use a touchless car wash if I'm out and about.

Mine popped out on an angle (didn't come out, but rotated partway in the bumper) just driving through a very mild snowstorm.

No, in another part of our conversation he very clearly and frankly said he won't even take the time to submit it as a claim.

Maybe the warranty is just within the bumpers and does not warranty the bumpers themselves... :D
Technically it is the fascia, which is outside the mechanical bumper...shhh...then its outside the bumper-to-bumper as you said

Yet one more good reason to avoid car washes.
