I ordered a premium SR AWD 16 weeks ago and still don’t have a production date for it. I bought one off a lot on Monday. If my order got scheduled the first week of April and everything went perfect (I know that’s a funny thought) I’d still be at 30-32 weeks. Yours might be faster since you’re in CA, but premiums seem to be running longer.
So I got the update from Ford yesterday that the dealer accepted my reservation and then today I got an email from the dealership asking me for a picture of my drivers license and to confirm my order sheet so they could convert my reservation to an order. They said that today was the last day to put orders in for the 22's. So I guess that's one more data point confirming that rumor?

Once I get the extra $4,000 county voucher in October I will probably start aggressively trying to find something on a dealer lot if its not looking like my order will be ready by end of year.

Thanks for the comment, I've talked with them twice on the phone and more by email. Still haven't found one I like more than my ordered one that was available. I'm still nosing around while waiting and reading the news. (Autonation Ford Tustin says "no ADM" and Click-Tuttle Ford Irvine says "you betcha, $10K ADM on GT.") I'd rather just wait than pay big ADM or drive to "Richmand" for a used one. (This opinion is not meant to criticize anyone who has, just guidance for myself.) I'm also "waiting for a Ioniq 5 and an EV6, but odds of this breaking in my favor are even lower than finding "my" MME on a dealer lot, right?)
Actually if you're in California you'll have a much easier time finding an Ioniq 5 or EV6 at MSRP within the next few months. They aren't doing custom orders and I don't expect them to be nearly as popular as the mach-e since many people still have the "it's a kia" mentality. Also they are only selling them in about 20 states so they are feeding many more into SoCal than there are Mustangs en route. There were over 1,000 Ioniq 5's in transit to SoCal (within 100 miles of LA) over the current 3 week period ending next week. It's pretty easy to get an SE Ioniq 5 at MSRP already and fairly easy to find an SEL also if you work for it. The LImited will take a bit longer since they aren't shipping as many. On the EV6 end they appear to be mostly shipping GT-Line AWD's so far.

I'm with you on this. I am hanging on to my MME order (day 67 of predicted 196-day wait, unless plant suspension pushes it out even more.) However, I've been looking at nearby Ford dealers (central Orange County) who advertises several tens of MME to see if I might find one that is available. All are "in transit special orders" or still being built, thus not available for sale to me. A few are on the lot but only at the dealer that assesses huge markup (yep, defying CEOs "no markup" edict.)
So, I have also been looking to Hyundai Ioniq 5-Ltd at 2 dealers; one assesses huge markup, one says they do not. I asked each for contact if they got the model I sought. Also, have been looking for Kia EV6-GT-AWD. Again, talked to two Kia dealers. One (in person) was indifferent to my interest and proudly declared a huge markup. The other wouldn't answer the question online, urging me to come to them. When asked to confirm if they had one on the lot, as they claimed, they stopped responding. So, I assumed the worst, that they were prone to bait and switch and markups. This might be too harsh. I'll keep looking, but, to me, ADM is price gouging and luring me to their shop to work their sales magic is repulsive practice.
Waiting and examining options are a personal journey and the variety of experiences related on this forum are very useful and interesting.

I just ordered a Mach E GT today and it all went through. Now, let's see if it is accepted by the dealer and ultimately Ford.

I need a minute for the shock to wear off… seems that the right hand isn’t talking to the left hand at Ford! It’s like they told dealers they were stopping orders and then forgot to tell IT and marketing (or whoever makes the order page exist) that they were stopping orders!

I was just about to come back and update when I saw your post as the plot has thickened. So yesterday I ordered a 22 GT , made a deposit and all went through. Today I received an email from the dealer confirming the order. And, ready for this, also got an email from Ford saying my order is in!

I just read a dealer was told retail orders for Mach-e are stopping February 11th. Not sure if true but two different people posted from dealers.

I suspect that the Feb 11 cutoff was a soft date depending on how many orders they received. If they’re getting fewer orders than projected, they extend the cutoff?

Just speculation on my part….because that’s what we do here! ?

My dealer also told me the 2/11 deadline was the cutoff date for the MY22 model and my dealer is honest and pleasant to work with, I was also told that dealers have until 2/19 to take care of orders and make sure it's good to go, what I am not getting is how come you can still order a Mach E today? with the Maverick hybrid when the did the same thing, my dealer also called me and give me the deadline, when that date came, ordering a Maverick hybrid was not an option anymore on Ford's website.

I think you are partially right, wish I could find the previous memo I saw. It said order cutoff was 2/11 but confirmations had to be done by 2/19.

Good question but you indeed can still order if it’s approved by the dealer and confirmed by 2/19. I think it is kinda like a speed limit, it is 211 mph but you won’t get a ticket if you stay at 219 mph or below! Lol
