I am supposed to pick up my standard GT on Monday. The thing I am most worried about is the bouncy ride that has been reported many places. My wife gets car sick very easily and I'm afraid a bouncy ride will mean she can't ride in it and I'd probably have to look to sell it. Anyone have any more insight on the bouncy ride? Anyone with easily carsick family members?

My solution is I am always the driver. So maybe you need to be the passenger when you both go somewhere. I can get car sick on a very windy road but do not have issues on bumpy roads.

I think my new GT has a pretty decent ride, not harsh at all like I was expecting. My tires were set by the dealer at 37 tho so that could be helping. I have noticed a bounce under more extreme road conditions, which unfortunately are somewhat common here in upper Midwest - but only when encountered at speed. To be honest, I would not have thought much of it except I read the endless threads on here complaining about it. However bounce is not a harsh ride like many euro cars or a Tesla - that’s what I had before and the ride was harsh as only descriptor.

Even my 5 years old kid comments how bouncy it is sometimes, so be prepared for you wife to complain ?
Yup. It’s a tad bouncy on certain road conditions (concrete sections and expansion joints) at freeway speeds. It’s surprisingly smooth and comfortable on crummy city streets though.
My 5yo doesn’t complain and my wife just pauses her coffee drinking until we get past the section.
Hella fun car. Just took my dad’s neighbor for a spin. He giggled like a school boy when I floored it. :)

Agree with all the above. My wife was the first to comment & tho she's apt to get motion sick in the twisty mountains, she's had no issues in the GT. My Audi A6 was definitely smoother-- but that was a 4dr luxe sedan. GT is a sport model, so stiffness to be expected. If you need to unload, you'll probably come out ahead. It is a HOT model & in demand!

Last weekend I installed a steeda rear sway bar using the recommend setting. I expected a car with the mustang moniker to have a stiffness to its ride. That being said I have noticed a slight bounce under certain conditions. As near as I can tell the new sway bar has greatly reduced any bounce if not totally eliminated it. The wife also noticed the improved ride.

I've been driving with family (w/dogs) on local roads and highways for a year now. The longest I've driven in a day was about 8 hours. Nobody complained, including dogs. Yes, suspension is stiffer than in my other cars, but in normal conditions it doesn't create any problems.
Only once I drove on an uneven road that seemed to hit a suspension resonance frequency, so it felt like jack in the box. I suppose there are people who are very sensitive to those jolts and will be very uncomfortable in such situation.
I personally feel more comfortable in MME. In my other cars I had softer suspension, but I'm not sure it feels better, because it feels more like sailing with slower ups and downs. One of my dogs actually puked once in my old suave SUV.

Yes, Premium 4X. I think it was $249 (part # 555 1032 adjustable rear sway bar) there's several post on the forum. If you can rotate your tires, jack up your car, you can do this in about an hour and a half by your self. I had to remove both rear tires but you don't have to drop the lower control arms as they suggest.

Great, good luck. I see your in the PNW, I am Located in Orting WA. Don't know about the GT sawy bar, but suspect it's the same hollow lite weight tube. The Steeda is hvy weight steel with poly bushings.

Many people comment about stiffness, but the problem is not stiffness , it is bounciness.
I have owned many sporty cars/SUVs, some with stiffer suspension than the GT. For example, my old 2017 BMW X3 with sport package was stiffer (but not bouncy). The 2015 Macan S with Air suspension at Sport+ setting was about as stiff as the GT but not bouncy. The GT is somewhat stiff but not too much, I would say it is right amount for a sporty SUV.

However, the suspension has a bounciness in certain pavement conditions. It makes the rear jump up and down as if the suspension is broken. It is not because it is stiff. When it happens the suspension goes through all of its travel a couple of times until it settles. It reminds me of a 2012 Ford Taurus rental I drove once 10 years ago.
