So under the tread regarding the Mach E cant fully turn off the motion sensor.

@Electric Goat mention to us about we could probably make a cover for it, and we then designed a sample, and he helped us to test it out.

this is a sample, the final product will be in black plastic, thinner, the slider won't go off the edge, and we gonna try to make it looks more OEM if we gonna make one.

We have some questions about this product that we need your help.

(1) @Electric Goat had helped us to test out that the motion sensor will be disabled when the slider is closed. but I'm wondering in a situation like "dog is jumping around the car", will that also turn on the alarm?

(2) if we sell it for 11.99$, how many of you will buy it? please show us your vote ?

(3)Its been a while since that thread, is the "problem" been fixed?

1. You’ve got to shift the car quite a bit to trigger the alarm. I don’t think a dog jumping is going to cause it.
2. I’m not going to buy it as I don’t have a dog. If I did, I would only buy it in black to match the interior of the car.
3. it is certainly still a problem.

Don’t you also have to make a sign for the center screen if you’re trying to simulate functionality on Teslas?
Or, here’s a crazy thought - people could simply turn off the motion sensors. I get prompted to do this every time I turn off the car (it’s actually very annoying).

If you're just sitting in the car and raise your arm up it sets the alarm off. Not sure if your motion sensors don't work but they're supposed to trigger the alarm if someone reaches their hand through the window. A dog would definitely trip it.

The setting for turning off the motion sensors doesn't stick. That's the whole issue. But the setting to stop asking you about it every time does stick, so you can turn that off to stop being annoyed by it.

I meant if the sensors were covered. Then you’d be relying on the physical motion sensors. The ones the set the alarm off if you jack the car up or rock it.

Yes, I know. That’s what I meant by it being annoying. I still don’t understand why it’s easier to slide a tab than to tap a yes or no button? Maybe I’m still missing something?

You said that it annoys you that your car asks you if you want to turn off the motions sensors every time you shut down. You can turn that prompt off so that it stops asking you.

Regardless of what you choose when prompted, it often will re-enable the motion sensors a few minutes after you leave the car. Hence the need for some people to cover the sensors.

This is interesting - I have car camped in my Mach E several times and slept in the back. Never set off the alarm before. But yeah, I’d be interested just in case.

Oh! Ok, I get it! So there’s a bug and the question doesn’t really do what it claims?
Now, I’ll just take the simple approach and ignore the prompt ?

Untrue on the first point in my experience. I've had my dog in the trunk for literally 2 minutes and he set off the motion alarm 3 times from just turning himself around in the trunk

He was talking about the shock sensor, not the motion sensor.

1. Agreed. This has also been my observation so far.
2. These would still be useful when passengers are left in the car. I've left my wife in the car momentarily to grab take-out and her movement in the passenger seat was enough to trip the alarm.
3. Ditto

yes if we gonna make one, it will be in black, and the design will be better, this is a demo to see if blocking this area will turn off the motion sensor
