Hello, I will soon be a Mach-e owner and I was wondering if any of you could give me advice about car insurance. It's looking like it's gonna cost me $2000 to insure the car for the year with AAA. Does anyone have a better insurance company advice that I should go with? Also a little bit myself. I am 26 no tickets, and no accidents in my car history and I am also a male. I will be getting 2022 to select. Thank you for the advice.
Mercury insurance with 250/500K with $500 deductible is $1,500/year in the SF Bay Area. We are senior drivers, no tickets with a HO policy with Mercury.

I added a second car (Mach-e Premium) on my existing policy (state farm) and my premium increased by $243 (6 months premium) Strange thing is that the Mach-e premium is cheaper than my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. I am paying 443 for Pathfinder and 356 for Mach-e every 6 months.

Progressive has me at about 800 a year for 300/100. Our Tesla Model Y costs twice as much to insure for some reason

My ‘21 Premium MME is $850 annually mainly because it’s a $60k car. I have $250/$500k liability and UIM coverages.

Insurance premiums are discounted based on many personal variables. Use an insurance broker to shop it. He gets paid by the insurance carrier, not you.

Advice? Yes. Don't ask people on a forum about insurance rates, because it's impossible to compare. States differ, companies differ, driving habits, other vehicles, family members, insurance credit score, etc.

$2,000 seems right in line with where it should be. How does that compare to your previous car, and was it $60,000 and brand new?
Sorry for the lack of information but I live in southern California. AAA quoted me $2300 for the mache by itself with no other vehicle. And with my 2015 ford fusion on the policy, it brings it to $3300 for both!

Agree that it is nearly impossible to compare because of all the variables, but $2,000 seems too much!

I moved to the US in 2018 and had no driving history for the insurance companies to work with. Most of them did not accept my original DL (issued when I was 19) and used the one I got in CA as my "first" DL (issued just a few weeks after I arrived). The highest I had to pay was around $1300 for the year.

My guess is that ultimately the premium was mostly impacted by my gender, age group, and address.

Ouch…use a broker (agency) or try State Farm or Liberty Mutual which deal directly. AAA seems high, but I’m in CT.

well I have 3 cars on my USAA INS account:
the MME GT PE is $384/6 months, or $768/year
2013 prius with 100K miles is $361/6 months, or $722/yr
2014 corolla is 500 yr

however -- we are retired, don't put on too many miles, about 5k a yr,
and in a small town in Pa. Its hard to compare because of location and
driving situation.

Our policy cost decreased by $420/year when we replaced our VW Golf Alltrack with the Mustang. Geico.

I shopped around a fair bit and got the best rates with Connect (American Family Insurance) through Costco. They had the best pricing for the same coverages across the bigger player like Geico, Progressive and All State. I am also in CA (NorCal), if that helps.

My 6 month policy premium is $789, which includes the Blazer and the GT-PE. I have the T/A apart so it’s not being insured. This is with 21st Century Insurance (I believe they’re owned by Farmers?) In the SF Bay Area with one accident on my record, no tickets. ?‍♂??
