Just checked with Ford chat again and my order is still showing up as delayed, no info on why or how long ?‍♂ getting nervous, hope they didn’t damage the car or anything like that while in transit.

Mine is still sitting in Jacksonville- 2 weeks! No railcar assignment to MIA, but I do see the final carrier assignment from MIA to Ft. Lauderdale.

Frustrating. I can understand trucker shortages but rail engineers? Gotta be something else. Perhaps they won't load until they have a full load to the same dealer. Who knows?

Dealer just called to tell me it actually showed up! If this is an April Fools joke I’m gonna be really upset ? if it’s not, best news I’ve heard in a while!

I'm in the same timeframe 4/27 to 5/3 for delivery. I'm out of Chico but bought from the Yuba City dealer. We might be on the same train from KC. When did you originally order. Have you checked with your dealer about price protection?
I am out of Elk Grove but bough at Folsom Lake Ford. I bet we are on the same train. I haven’t talked about price protection yet but I need too.

What did you order? I ordered a premium RWD Ext batt. in Space White with the gray interior. Ordered 8-30, confirmed 9-27, build week 1-31, built email 3-16 and shipped email 3-22. 4-27 to 5-3 estimated delivery. As of this last Monday 3-28 my car was in Lorado Tx. per my dealer, I'm assuming on the way to Kansas City. Seems like all go thru Kansas City. I started the price protection conversation Monday. Sales people seemed clueless. I'll keep pushing them. If you hear anything regarding delivery or price protection on yours let me know and I'll do the same.

Hmmm... Ford chat gave me the railcar number from KC to JAX. I tracked it on Norfork Southern and it arrived Miami 3/11. But - Ford still claims my car is in Jacksonville. Why would they take it off the train before it arrived in MIA (final destination)? o_O

Just got out of the dealership.
Good news: it’s really here!
Bad news: I can’t take it home, they didn’t submit the price protection info beforehand and Ford is closed for the weekend. Will have to come by Monday to finalize everything.

My MME has finally been loaded onto a NS East bound train from the Voltz yard. I am guessing it will be unloaded in Fostoria at NS's yard there, or possibly by Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake which NS also serves. Then a truck ride to the dealer.

There is nothing they have to submit for price protection. Its automatic if it is reported in the same name it was ordred in.

Sigh. They told me they had to email my VIN to someone in corporate to confirm the original order price, and they won’t be able to respond until Monday morning. The salesman I’ve been working with was unfortunately out when my car got delivered, and the new guy I’m working with seems a bit uninformed.

They wanted me to sign some contract (forgot what it’s called) that reflects the increased price so I can take the car home for the weekend, and then they’ll adjust it Monday. I said I didn’t want to sign anything that has the higher price though and I’ll just come back on Monday. I wonder if anyone else heard of something similar?

FWIW, the dealer structured the transaction to show the full MSRP, then had a $2k discount on the second line for the price protection which netted out to the pre-Dec 8 price. Nothing I had to do. They did it that way for accounting and audit purposes. It was pain free for me. No hoops to jump through.

Hey team, passing along a few observations from my first week with the car….all positive with my GT (non PE)

1. it’s fun. Hitting the throttle in Unbridled brings the samethrill and grin as riding a roller coaster. But it hammers your battery ?

2. 1-Pedal drive is awesome- and puts a bunch of energy back into your battery. Took about 15 minutes to get used to. Use it.

3. Charging using 110 nets you about 12% battery gain overnight. It’s about 1.2 % per hour on 110

4. I am getting about 3.5 miles/kWh which equates to over 300 miles per tank’ or charge.

5. The Puddle Pony at your door thresholds is impressive and a nice touch.
Ford Mustang Mach-E 1/31 Build Week gang BEB47964-2FE7-4511-8CDC-127D979126E8

6. You will get attention while driving from others.
7. I used my 16 year old to figure out the display pad on the dash. It swipes both horizontally and vertically.

8. Still learning!

anyone else with lessons learned?

That is fine as long as they take the price protection off before taxes are calculated. In my state, you pay sales tax on the pre-rebate price. Price protection should not be considered a rebate. I have seen some reports of dealers attempting to treat it as such.

They can access all of the information on FMC Dealer. There are historical Pricing Lists listed there. The dealer just needs to search for it on FMC Dealer

Great point. Taxes were calculated off the lower number. This dealer was great.
