I just provided this for the poster’s information. My car is due next week. Went in Friday and began financing process. No issues. Salesman had the folder with my order, actually brought up PP himself, and I will be first Ford Options customer. They had to do some digging but no big deal on that either.
The biggest issue with price protection seems to be the people who get all foaming at the mouth before they even get their cars.

Amen! And sometimes appear they do not want to take the effort to just get the deal in writing. Easy and straight forward and for a $70,000 why wouldn’t you?

New to the process, I didn’t know this was necessary the first time I ordered a Mach E.

I tried to get the deal in writing the second time I put a Mach E on order with a different dealer. I asked for a signed agreement, and I was told they couldn’t get me one until after the order was submitted—I thought that made sense since there was nothing to sign yet. That was about 3 months ago. I never got that document signed. Despite pestering them for weeks.

It’s not a matter of purchasers being lazy. The dealerships are quite good at getting out of things they don’t want to do. Once they get what they need, they stop responding. At that point, it’s too late.

@AKgrampy, the ones that didn’t go into the dealership were rightfully under the impression that it was an equivalent process via online. Order a Tesla online and you’re done. Ford is trying to compete in their space. Not much different than a dealership if you spec a car, put a deposit down, and the dealer says yep it’s going to be headed your way.
A lot of us have initiated the conversation with the dealer prior to showing up and find them to be unaware of price protection. Period. Mine literally told me I was going to be paying current GTPE price but somehow that wasn’t affected by the price increase in December after ordering in October. I’m glad some people don’t have to go through these hoops but that’s definitely not the case every time.
Apparently it would have been less painful to do it in person. A lot of misinformed dealers and a lot of online orders getting caught in the crossfire because of course we care about not paying more than expected or wasting a ton of time and energy at the dealership. Those dealerships don’t even know where to get the appropriate answers from in my case.

Did your car arrive? I think just price protection (without x-plan, rebate, etc) is straightforward and can be done in the system. Even my dealership could figure it out by themselves lol

Yes, my car hasn't arrived as yet, expected end of April. And yes I guess I am foaming at the month. I'm tired of working with dealers that don't give you a straight answer. I've started the conversation regarding price protection, which other posts in this forum have suggested to do. I'm getting the dump look from the dealer like they have no knowledge of price protection. They will have to research it. Give me a break. Ford has increased pricing recently on the Bronco's, Maverick's and even the F-150's. It's not only a MME issue. They know how price protection works. There playing dump hoping the buyers are dump enough not to push it so they can pocket the money Ford will be refund to them. I'm not waiting till the day of delivery to try and resolve this. That's what they want, to string it out and have you wait hours on delivery day trying to figure it out hoping you'll just give up.

Wouldn't the next statement from the dealer be, "thanks for providing this. We have a person/department that gets these communications from Ford, and will go find ours right now so we can provide you with the proper service. We don't want to cross-examine you and show how we're f'in incompetent".

And no, you're not going to get any contact information or anything more official than this. You're simply wasting your energy asking for it. You can go through 50 car/truck forums and you will never see Ford official say anything beyond - "please DM us your ....".
Well that's what I would have hoped their response to be, but after sending them some resources from this forum the manager told me PP only applies to orders that were changed from 2021 to 2022. So I've been looking around for a link or contact that would give me something official and irrefutable. This should not be as difficult as it is IMO, just adds to the frustration.

I didn't even noticed this forum had direct messaging until yesterday. I'm now in contact with Ford, having a bit of back and forth on the details.

Right, I think this is in relation to the new increase -- I'm referring to the previous increase that added $2k to my reservation already, not the April increase. I ordered in Oct. 2021.
They're both tied to original order date.

According to my experience, all these are useless. You should be just very patient until they figure it out themselves. My car arrived Monday morning, and I finally got the correct invoice today. Although I gave all pieces of information here in advance...

If they agree to take X-Plan, there is nothing to lock in.

Thank you all for the help! My Mach E is finally here, for the price I originally reserved it at. Wouldn't have gotten my original price without info posted here.
