Anyone worried about charging their MME at a hotel overnight?

Not to mention some of them charge ridiculous amount (yes I’m looking at you, Marriot and affiliates!)
Marriott charges to use chargers? I haven’t driven to any marriotts although I stay at them frequently (I fly everywhere long distance).

Worlds slowest charger - Aria self parking...Massive hotel, 4 'free chargers'. And they're barely faster than a 110 plug. Took 3 days to charge, and it wasn't fully discharged when I plugged in
You do realize they have very slow chargers at a casino for a reason, right?

Most Marriott family (as well as other major chains) are independently owned/operated. If one has pay charging, it’s not Marriott corporate policy, it’s the local organization.
I’ve stayed at a couple Fairfield Inns and charged no cost.

At least the ones in Boston and surrounding areas charge quite a bit… Usually $5 for 1st hr and $1 per hr afterwards for level 2…

I'm worried that the more electric models that are pushed out and coming in the next year or two, will overrun the one or two hotel charge stations and there will be no way to get a charge spot at the height of vacation season. That means a rather long walmart parking lot, or similar, stopover. Not something I would be looking forward to do on vacation.
It won’t be an issue if the ratio of charge stations to cars get better. It’s why hotels don’t have gas stations in their parking lots now.

JW didn’t have a fee to charge me but there is a valet charge if you drop your car at valet and ask to plug it in when available. No cost to charge just to have the valet. If you use valet, there is a fee whether you charge or not. That JW Marriott may just be unique. When in GR I stay there since I have had a great experience with them.

What I mean is their is a difference in the past from parking your car at a hotel for the night. You locked it up and went in and went to bed. I have ordered my MME and am waiting, but does it bother anyone to be plugging their EV in over night and knowing someone could mess with the charger, or unplug your car as a joke? Plus, I assume it is first come first serve, to a hotel charging station. So you navigate to a hotel with an “open” charger, but by the time you get there, it is taken what do you do? Are these things to worry about?
Not worried about it but that is a feature I miss on the Mach E. The Leaf has a locking J-1772. It even has lock and auto settings. Auto will unlock when the battery is fully charged.

It might also comfort you to know that the app will notify you if your car gets "Accidentally Unplugged" (unplugged before a target charge level was reached).
Yes but those alerts aren't very loud when they go off. I doubt they would wake most folks so the best you could do is plug back in the next morning.

So, I stayed at a Tru Hilton in Denver PA this weekend. First time using a hotel charger. Got the last charger, free with the EV Connect app. However, when I looked at my Ford app, it wasn’t going to be charged until the next afternoon. PlugShare shows it to be a J-1772 connector. Why would it be so slow. Noone on plugshare complained about it being slow. Did I do something wrong? Is this typical of Hotels? Also, I don’t want to check in a complain on PlugShare if this is typical.

FordPass is notoriously off when it comes to charge times, amount actually added to car, etc.......

Mine will say car will meet charge % at 3am, then actually reach it 30min after starting ?‍♂

The connector is irrelevant. J1772 connectors are on 110v chargers also.

However, that hotel's chargers state they are 7.2kw. That's not slow.

As stated, the FordPass app is very inaccurate. Did you do the math the next day to see how much you got per hour?

The slowest level 2 charger I've found (that I could verify) produced 5.3kw which resulted in 4.8kw to the car. It barely charged the car by morning.

7.2kw x 90% = 6.48kw to the car. 88 / 6.48 = 13.6 hours to go from 0 to 100%.

Stayed at a state park, it had a level 1 charger with a J1772. The same as charging on a 110 outlet. I used their campsite 14-50 outlet.

Had a great experience at the Fairfield Inn in Daytona last week. Spot wasn’t ICEd, looks like I was the only one who needed it. Just had to ask Front desk clerk to activate it, everyone was very nice, gonna be my goto hotel there from now on, lots of great restaurants to walk to as well!

Well, I ran it for about 12 hours and it didn’t charge to 100% from 30%. Didn’t notice Unfortunately what it got to. Well I will love and learn.
