agreed too, too aggressive imo
Ditto, to the point that I always disengage when approaching stopped traffic. But I recently tried it out again going ~45 (nobody behind me, "remind me how bad it is" kinda thing), and it started slowing way earlier and more gently than I remembered. I was amazed at how well it did what I would've done.

Don't know if it's me misremembering earlier braking (doubt it), an update (pretty sure the only update I've received is a BC map update), it learns your braking habits (that'd be awesome, but I doubt it), or it's spotty depending on visual conditions/certain scenarios.

Couldn't agree with you more. I've had BlueCruise for a little over a month and it's performed fairly serviceably during that time. I don't like how aggressively it brakes when approaching slowed down traffic. This is actually a double whammy as then I hit my brakes that I don't use at all due to 1PD, causing the car to brake too aggressively coming off the adaptive cruise / BlueCruise control. I am sure I'll get better at this, it's a WIP.
Yes, that's because ACC is meant to be used following another car in front. If you are coming up to slow or stopped traffic, be ready to brake by yourself.

Do not enable one pedal driving when you have ACC or BlueCruise on. ACC will hold the brakes for you if the car in front is stopped. I enable it if I'm the first car at a light.

Over the "intelligent" cruise control and lane centring, is it really that much better? I don't sense that it's that great an upgrade.

I have used BC a few time, my only complain is that the car seems to be afraid of passing by a slower car on another lane. The front radar shows a car ahead even when one is not there and momentarily breaks the car. It is annoying and potentially dangerous if you have another car following you close behind.

I just picked up my car this am from the glass recall and Blue Cruise Update. I will have to see what it's like. **Question: Is it activated the same way (Lane Keep Assist with Cruise Control)? It just recognizes it is on a blue zone?

Exactly. Someone else pointed out that it is better when following traffic, as opposed to coming up on traffic that is slowed or stopped. This makes sense. I wonder if they’ll ever be able to improve the strategy since it’s not really ML-driven (I don’t think).

My car just got the BlueCruise update as well as the recalls done yesterday. I did try the BlueCruise out for a short stretch and I found myself really nervous to let the car take over. I’m curious if anyone has used the BlueCruise in the carpool lane?

Yes, frequently. It's actually one of the better places I've found to use it, since carpool lanes are always very well marked, it's often further separated from the adjacent lane, and there's a lower chance of someone cutting in unexpectedly.

Picked up my car today after blue cruise update. I specifically asked the service advisor to verify it was working. He said the blue cruise wheel showed up but it still said keep hands on steering wheel. He did not seem to understand what blue cruise is. When I tried it on the way home it did not engage. Not sure if you have to be on a highway, I was on a major boulevard. Will try it on a highway tomorrow. Any thoughts??

blue cruise is available on 130k miles of roads, so Ford says. Maybe you weren’t one one of those.

For the most part you have to be on a major highway, most likely an interstate. Not sure if it extends to surface streets.

This is correct. Per the BlueCruise available message:
This feature is compatible on pre-qualified sections of divided highways called Hands-Free Blue Zones that make up more than 130,000 miles of North American roads.
I don’t think I’d ever use the current iteration of BlueCruise on a “surface road” or city street.

Unfortunately not working on interstates either, although blue cruise map indicates it is available on these highways/freeways in Southern California

My car came with blue cruise so I cannot compare to life without it on the MME.
You can’t turn it off? If you could wouldn’t that tell you what it was like without it?

I probably can but really not interested to see the before and after.
