My experience with communication has been like this:

1. Got a call from my dealer within 7 minutes of placing my order online.
2. Heard nothing else for maybe 1-2 months when....
3. Suddenly I see an email from Ford. My heart cries out with joy.
4. Email was only a marketing email. My heart is crushed.
5. Several weeks go by. Yay! More email from Ford.
6. Just another advertisement reminding me how great my car is going to be... eventually. More disappointment.
7. Now I don't check my email obsessively any more.

I have two friends who ordered 2021 Mach-Es and the experience was much the same. However, one day I know one of these emails will be the one I am waiting for.

If it helps you any, Ford typically schedules production 5-6 weeks before the production months starts and typically release new production schedules around the third week of the month and usually on Thursday.

For example, March 24 was the last date that Ford released a production schedule and that was for the month of May. If Ford sticks to the pattern, April 21st would be a good day to watch your email.

Also, a thoughtful administrator typically posts info about when the next build schedule is going to be announced. I'd keep you eye on the threads posted here in this community.
Might be wishful thinking, but we haven't seen any production dates released for the last 3 weeks of May, so it is possible that the transition to Job 2 is holding up any scheduling for those weeks. But then again maybe the may productions are going to Europe.

I thought it was rough just waiting months for a build date, but now that it's been built with an estimated delivery date, but no idea if it was truly shipped or not, it's a whole different rough. šŸ˜† Hope you're all having a great weekend!

I've been posting in the 3/21 build week thread, but figured I need to join you grumpy folks so I can be more at home. Everyone else in that thread are getting their cars and I'm mad.

I ordered on October 1 and it took a while for the build date, but everything was going smoothly. My car had no build week delays and shipped quickly after being built. I got an ETA of April 7 -13, the quickest in my build week thread. My dealer is in Springfield, MO only 2.5 hours from the KC drop off point. The car got dropped off the rail at KC on April 11 and was paired to a truck according to palsapp/order tracker. I figured I would have it in a day or 2 and at worst a week. Instead a week passed with no update. My ETA updated to April 15-21. Then another week passed, then another week. I called Jack Cooper transport last week and was told that the car was on hold due to damage in transport, but they couldn't give me any more details. I was so ticked that I had to take off work the next day just to pout. I gave it another week and decided to call them again today. I got a few more details. They said it has front bumper damage and the claim process started three days ago April 29. They don't know how long the claim and repair will take, but they will be repairing it on site.

So I have no idea how much longer this will take. My ETA on Ford.com still says April 15-21. I'm guessing at best 2 weeks to repair (that's if there's no delay on whatever part they need) and then another 2 weeks to be sent out on a truck to my dealer. Probably best case scenario is sometime towards the end of this month. Worst case it sits there for months waiting on a part to come in to repair.

I have no idea how many cars on average get damaged in transport, but it's probably 1 in a 1,000 or more. Just got unlucky.

So not only am I dealing with the excitement of it being so close to delivery and then that being taken away (I could literally drive to KC tonight and pick it up if they'd let me), but I'll be paying full price for a new car that has been in an accident.

All because some idiot didn't know how to drive the car onto or off of a rail car/truck and damaged it.

Uggg. I feel for you, so sorry. And Iā€™m pissed off in the 4/11 build group as 4/18 build cars seem to be shipping before ours. Your bad news give me better perspective on my grumpiness. Fordā€™s delivery process seems like a joke, damage like yours should not be happening and the delays and tracking are horrible.

The good: My car is currently on a Union Pacific train from Muncie, KS to Mira Loma, CA.
The bad: Have heard about cars sitting in Mira Loma for many weeks before being trucked to dealers. OTOH, some had theirs within days.

It has now been 332 days since order, and 5084 days since I purchased my current ride ('08 Escape Hybrid 2WD bought new the first time gas in California hit $4/gallon). I am beyond ready for new wheels.

Nice! You going to Citrus Ford by chance? That's where I have mine delivered to. Or Hemborg?

I called again today and they said it is still in the repair process. He said he would try to get more details and call me back later. If I could just get an approximate ETA it would be so much better. It's all about expectations. When I first ordered the car I knew it would be 6+ months so the wait wasn't so bad. But once it got built and shipped you start getting excited that you'll get it soon. Then when it's in a hold it could be anywhere from a week to 3 months longer so it makes it tough. I have to remind myself that it's just a car and it's not that big of a deal. But I am getting antsy and it puts me in a bad mood.

He called back and said it has been repaired and is supposedly being loaded on a truck to transport tonight! I'll believe it when I see it!

It took a couple more days, but it finally delivered yesterday. I'm hoping I'll be able to pick it up tonight.

Does anyone know when batch numbers are assigned? Mine's scheduled to start production next week and I still don't have a batch #/window sticker.

If I remember correctly (someone will correct me if I'm wrong) the batch number and window sticker will typically show 7 or less days from your projected build date.
