2021 Mach-E Premium AWD.
Reading through, this seems like a known issue. Car would not start, got full accessory power active message. Ford Roadside sent a tow that could not tow an electric. Thankfully dealer towed it in afterwards. Waiting for a diagnosis, but unsure of prognosis. Any pointers?

Day 1: No Update from dealer - probably should be prepared for a long wait?

Update Day 2: Dealer called and advised that is an issue with “inverter system controller” that is bad and needs to be replaced. Part has been ordered, 3 day eta + fix. What this part does is unknown.
Dealer / Service Dept has been good to work with so far.

Hi there! Can you send us a DM with more information? I’ll see how I can assist on my end. Thank you!

Day 6: Part is in, I am assuming it will be installed today. Due to multiple concurrent issues (drive mode not available / car overheating / intermittent charge failures) - unsure when I can get the car back. Hoping for the best.
For people who got their cars fixed, how reliable was the car after the fixes? I am spooked (to say the very least) about driving a car which had a catastrophic failure at 2500 miles and no reliable towing option.

Day 7: Picked up my car today - car start fail issue is addressed. On the way back got the “drive mode not available”. Also, temperature gauge was reading +10 over ambient. Looks like this is going to be a long haul… :(.

It’s normal for the temp to be higher, especially if it’s been in the sun, it will even out once you drive. The sensor is in a bad spot.

Makes sense - although I dont get the drive mode not available error. Ford SW is trying to take care of the battery?
Wondering what happens when its consistently over a 105 (or 115) for the next few months..

I’ve seen mine 16F over. It always reverts to normal….eventually.
My 17 F150 has a clever solution to this problem - when starting, the temperature recorded when last shutdown is displayed. No update for about the first 10 minutes of driving. I don’t know which is worse….

Thank you for the inputs. The drive modes shutting down is a direct corelation to the gauge? Or does that need followup?

Yeah out in the Florida sun mine shows 102 when it’s about 90 out, then will go down to correct after 5 mins of driving.

Temps today were over a 100 - drove the car for an extended period ~70 miles. Started the drive with pre-conditioned battery and then was parked in covered parking. Did not run into Drive Mode Not Available, in the middle of the drive, message on Sync Screen. Seems like if you leave the car in sun for a while and use the AC mid to high, car displays that popup mid drive.

If you got front PPF applied make sure the hole for the temp sensor got cut out so air can flow past the sensor. It's common they forget to cut that open when they apply the film. It's located above the grille shutters on the driver's side. Run your hand along under the lip near where the plate would be.

Ford has already implemented this in the more recent software updates on the Mach-E. You may notice a difference in behavior this summer compared to before.

Which drive mode are you trying to use that isn’t available?
