long story short, how does everyone get price protection of a x-plan price?
Is it the original x plan price, or new x-plan price -2k?

——————super long story if you are interested——————-
Throughout the months of waiting, I’ve contacted my dealer several times about price protection. Up till this point they are still trying to make everything so difficult to me.
I ordered my car online around end of October 2021. It was a 2022 model. I was able to test drive a used Mach e before I placed the order. Couple days later I asked the sales who showed me the used car if I should order online or order at the dealer. She told me it shouldn’t make any difference one way or another, so I ordered online to save a trip.
Around 12/8/22, ford increased the price. I wasn’t thinking much because when I logged in back then, my price was still the original price. But around end of 2021, people start noticing the price on existing order changed without any notice. And that’s also where I start worrying about the price increase.
After researching on this forum, I found out about the price protection and approached my dealer about it. At that time, they just look like they know nothing about it and tell me things like the price increase because it’s different phases blah blah… you know… bs
So after a week or so, I called VOPC myself to confirm the price protection and the lady on the line was nice enough to confirmed that the process I learned from this forum is correct. I then went to the dealer again. I was going to make a phone call to VOPC at the dealer for themselves to hear it, but unfortunately VOPC was closed because of the time difference. At that point, the sales manager told me he will reach out to ford rep find figure this out. Just a side note, they also confirmed with me that they do accept xplan.
then another 2 months later, I asked my sales if they find out the price protection policy. Her answer was “let me double check …..”
During these month, my car was built and have an invoice with the updated price after price increased. There was a 325 credit because there is no active park assist feature. (It took me a while to finally get the invoice…) I was under the impression that my car shouldn’t be re-invoiced when I see the high price, but then I saw the 325 deducted due to active park assist so I guess it made sense that they re-invoiced because the spec has changed. My sales told me the price protection will kick in after the x plan price. Then we started the long wait of transition…..
fast forward till 2 weeks ago, I got email from ford that my car is ready for purchase and my dealer will contact me soon. I waited a week but no one contacted me so I asked for an update. Then I found out my car is process of being repaired because the roof was cracked during transition. I also asked them how they are going to do with the price protection. They originally told me they will cut me a check afterwards for price protection, but because my car was damaged so they offer to apply the price protection beforehand as a courtesy which I think it should haven been done this way instead of making it a courtesy.
Since it’s close to the time that I should get ready to pay for my car, I asked my sales to give me the estimate for ford option plan. I noticed the price protection and clean air rebate isn’t included on the estimate so I asked for an updated one. I feel bad that she’s going back and forth so I reminded her that the price protection should be before tax.
After this email, my sales told me to come in and talk to her boss face to face to get the number resolved which I did and I thought I was only going in to educated them on the difference between if they deduct the price before or after tax, but more funny things happened.
the sales manager told me that because I didn’t order the car at the dealer, he wasn’t able to find out the original x-plan price, so is not able to honor me the x-plan price with price protection. He can only offer price protection off the current MSRP, which means I loss the ~800$ Xplan discount because they couldn’t find out the correct x-plan price?
I told him there’s equation that you can easily calculate the correct x plan price and I actually have already calculated it and they can feel free to have people examine if it’s correct. He simply cut me off and said that he is afraid that the dealer won’t get reimbursed if they offer price protection on xplan price. I questioned him, so you do not trust your Ford Corporate? (Then why should I??)
And he started to blame me that I didn’t ordered with xplan. There is simply no where for me to put in xplan info when we order online, how am I supposed to order with xplan?
I’m so frustrated to a point where I just want to laugh. I don’t understand how much more ridiculous stories are they going to make up because of this simple math problem.
In the end I asked him, so what’s your plan now? He said he will reach out to GM and Ford rep and try to find out the correct price
price.
I do not think anyone can still trust a dealer like this if you were going through all these…. Ford Customer Care is not helping right now either. They just kept saying “we cannot interfere local dealer policy…. Blah blah”
Never ending frustration…….
