24k+views in sub 19 hours. That's insane. Ad revenue gods are happy.

Also to your #4 I hesitated posting it because of this but honestly it would have gotten out and someone else would have posted it probably giving more angst and misinformation/speculation. I wanted to try and control that the best way possible to keep people informed the best way possible.
It was already out. As sn example I saw it on the NTHSA website (I think) a few hours earlier and heard about via an email from a friend as well. For better or worse, there’s no keeping this stuff bottled up these days until you’re ready for a release— that’d be the 1980’s. ;)

On May 24th a bunch of FDRS updates were released including the two modules mentioned in this thread released. Since this is the time when productions seems to pick up the fix, maybe the software fix is already out in FDRS since May 24th

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...-stop-safely-now-in-the-ipc.17987/post-427360

However we don't know if an replacement part is also required together with a software update.
@chrisGT I think you're right, from The Verge:

Ford says the problem can be fixed with an over-the-air software update, which will be issued “next month.” Mustang Mach-E owners can also take their vehicles to a Ford or Lincoln dealership for a more immediate software fix.

You wait for the notification from Ford
That’s my ultimate plan. You forgot to mention - eat popcorn and enjoy the show while waiting.

You would need to look at the part number to see if you got the newer part or just the existing problematic one to at least get it moving again and get you on your way.
Do you know the part # of bad/new by any chance?

I understand. We could all be quite wrong too. This little bit of information has accomplished the following:
1. Given the Mach-e Forum a big spike in traffic.
2. Given the EV something to bash the car about.
3. Made all the Teslastans happy.
4. Caused undo angst for everyone else. Example: I need to go to the grocery store shortly. My first thought was, I guess I better take the Tacoma. Why? Because the idea there is going to be a safety recall means thus car is potentially hazardous and unreliable. I’m taking the MME.
5. Given us all great opportunities for posting memes.
You forgot to include…
6. The longest discussion EVER of how yearly quarters break down and when Q3 actually starts.

I’m looking for build date clarification, don’t rip me if this seems super simple. :).

my MME GT was originally scheduled for week of 5/16. Rescheduled to week of 5/23. Sticker shows a date of 5/13 at the bottom below all the graphics. A 5/18 date is listed in the special order section of the sticker at the bottom. My modules were populated on 5/26 and ford marked the car as built on 5/29.
So for the purposes of this recall, what date do you believe will be used?

It’s suppose to be delivered to the dealer over the next five days.
I can check your vin if you want to message it to me.

Shall we introduce non-calendar year fiscal years into the equation. Just for fun? :p

For example, my former employer’s third quarter begins on December 1. ;)

When I go to the site, it says my MME has a 1.8L DOHC engine... doesn't exactly instill confidence.

So sorry to friends who fall in this terrible recall. Not sure if this applies to us in Canada as of yet. Saw this on Facebook.

For me nothing will change. It was a known issue, 1% or less failure, will just need a tow if something were to happen, fix will be out shortly. If you think about it then if by some bad chance your car did fail you may get the part first! Actually glad this is happening now and not during the winter. Even though I am mostly in town it is no fun standing around at -20 degrees!
I had this happen to me very early on, I believe I was in the very first handful that this happened too, and it was in the dead of winter. While I hated every minute of the experience and that early on it wasn't as quick to figure out the problem, it took a small bit but I have 100% trust in this vehicle still. Everyone that is losing their minds about not trusting their car that, up until this point, had no problems are over reacting 100%. And I agree, at least it's not winter anymore and no one should be stranded in the cold if it does happen, but I'm just glad that Ford finally has concluded they need to do a recall and must have some kind of plan in place to deal with this.
