We still got a long ways to go on this thread. The 2.7 ecoboost engine failures in the new bronco thread over at Bronco6g is already up to 262 pages.
So you’re saying when I get bored of this I have something else to entertain me?!

Ford just had to recall 25000 ICE mustangs along with expanding a previous recall to now include another 2.9+ million vehicles. With ford there will always be plenty of recall entrainment to go around ?

Good for you. Positivity is important. I kind of believe it too, but probably for different reasons. I don't discard class action lawsuits. It all depends on what this update does to car's performance.
I might be in an even better position than most, since my car is not yet built, although in production since 5/30.
My belief is that class action lawsuits generally only benefit lawyers

Wow, anybody here have the trifecta of: 1) HVBJB recall, 2) blown bronco engine and 3) Chevy Bolt bad battery?

You would certainly be due for a run of good luck. Maybe time to hit Vegas for the long Holiday weekend.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Good luck to those affected.

I called them and they said there is no fix yet. At least I found out my car is on the affected list...
How do you find out If your car is on the infected list? Thanks

This thread isn’t even close to being in the top 10 lengthiest threads on this forum.

You can order some rapid tests for free from the USPS.
Might be too late. The car needs to enter quarantine until it’s symptom free then it’ll have to be masked up until it gets two or three negative tests PCR tests. Surely you know how serious this can be.

How do i find out if my car is affected. It is due to be delivered next week. The ford website says 0 recalls but I don't think that is true. Also what is the exact difference of the new models that aren't affected? Is this Ota update idea a joke for an inferior product? Called the dealer and it was worthless. They said if it's affected they have parts on hand to fix. Personally I wanted to just walk away at that point but figured I'd do more research.

Oh where to start
1. There was an advance notice of recall issued. Every car built before May 25, 2022 is on that advance notice.
2. When the recall is actually issued, the affected car VINs will be released and you’ll be able to see if your car is actually in the recall list.
3. You’ll get notification from Ford if you’ve actually purchased your car. If you haven’t, your dealer can’t deliver it to you until it’s fixed per the recall.
4. OTAs are one way software and firmware, in this, and many other, cars gets updated. The current fix for the problem is s software update. It’s not a joke. If you’re uncomfortable with that you can take it to the dealer and have them update it. But they’ll just be applying the software update that you’d get over the air direct to your car.
4. If you’re uncomfortable with over the air updates for any reason, you’re going to want to think about your commitment to almost all modern cars.
5. All the fear about throttling or limiting the car’s performance are just speculation atm. We won’t know what, if any, effect the recall update will have on the car’s performance until it’s out on being tested by real drivers.

It sounds like you haven’t received your car yet. The dealer will apply the update to the car you ordered if it’s covered by the recall. Why? Because they’re the owner of the car and can’t really sell it to you (or someone else) until all current recalls are complied with.

Good luck.
