I know, that was my point. It was a rhetorical question. Rather than trying to finger GM as the company that got it wrong, MME owners had better hope the company that really got it wrong (LG) has figured out how they got it wrong.

The number of Bolt fires was very, very small as a percentage of the total population, around one in ten thousand cars. On the second recall GM targeted the cars with batteries that had the highest incidence of failure and charge-limited all of them. The replacement process is still ongoing.
...ummm I thought this was about contactors...not batteries made by LG.

I must have missed a turn back there somewhere... recalculating, recalculating...

Has anyone seen a reference to a new part? In every notification on this recall I see a reference only to software.
You can look at other threads for information. I do not know what may have changed regarding the HVBJB but the part number did change a month or so ago. Some posters who had the failure did get the new part number installed. I am pretty sure some forum members are in the know but I will not point them out. I do believe that is why there a few who are really angry/frustrated that this is just rolling out as a software fix. Once again for many I do not think it will be noticeable assuming the software monitors and only limits power in certain situations. For people who push performance I would imagine they may notice.

I'm gonna check Summit Racing's site. They may have an upgrade kit.

No movement for me. Check out the 5/30 build week gang chat. One guy from the same batch (6205) had his modules populated yesterday. The first we know.
Scratch that, my modules just populated. I may or may not have been obsessively checking multiple times a day this week. :p

It came up because someone was ragging on GM over their handling of the Bolt recall and how much worse that was then how Ford is handling this one. Having had the great good luck of experiencing both I had some thoughts on the matter.

Ahhh well it just goes to show that bidness is bidness no matter who's doing it.

I see you're a Mini early adopter as well, I've got an '05 MCW myself.

I should have received my car tomorow. But today I have got the message from the dealer that they are not allowed to deliver it due to this problem. So all cars build in Mexico are affected, also EU cars. And all series, SR., Rwd, GT, etc... I guess Ford is looking for a solution, software and/or hardware. But they haven't found yet. So cars build after 05/24 are also affected. I hope they will find a solution asap, and hopefully as less impact as possible for recalls and delays in deliveries.

Yup. I was also a Bolt earlier adopter (2017). I hung onto the Mini after I bought the Bolt and hardly drove it for five years. Now since the repurchase of the Bolt the Mini is back to being my daily driver. I've always liked that car, but this is not what I planned.

Also said is that the software will be available starting in July. What we don't know is how this update will be rolled out. Will new cars sitting on dealership lots waiting for delivery get it first?

OTA updates may happen before you get yours scheduled at the dealership. I'm sure they will do in-dealership updates for delayed deliveries before taking in cars already in customers' hands.
