Not what I am saying at all. They have to represent to NHTSA that this is a workable solution to the problem in order for the recall to be resolved. So no it does not mean they have to "lie" but it also doesn't mean they won't have to do something else in the future if the initial solution doesn't work in the field.Ford will have to "represent" it as a fix? It sure sounds like you are saying Ford will have to lie.
Ford does not have to lie. Ford might choose to lie. It does not have to lie.
It doesn't have to be useless if we are sharing what we're hearing from our dealerships or other informed sources. That's why I came here, not for uninformed speculation dressed up as knowledge. We're seeing a whole lot of that here.I know this thread is useless for information as no one knows the final results as all are just speculating or complaining.
Ford technically has a fix, it's just not what owners want or signed up for before buying the MME. Ford has to limit by using software to protect poorly designed components. Performance will suffer, we just don't know the extent of it.
There is not much we can do, Ford is not obligated to upgrade the part. They are obligated to fix the problem anyway they can, and it turns out software will be it.
Did I get anything wrong?
