Restarted my phone and now the buttons for windows/frunk/trunk are back.
Mine still disappear. At this point I just have to quit and restart FordPass.

I’m not sure about your PAAK setup issues, other than to say make sure your car is in a open space with good cell service.

For the Trunk and Frunk buttons, job 1 cars do not have that available. If your car is an earlier build in 2021, which it sounds like it is based off of your OTA comments, Ford removed the non functional (for everyone else with job 1) Trunk and Frunk buttons from the app via a server side change. I had those buttons when I first set up the app then they disappeared within minutes. No word from Ford on when they will be available again but they should come back via an update at some point.
I have a Job 1 and finally got bluecruise going after 1 full year of ownership. Are you saying that remote frunk opening is also something I will have to wait or never get to enjoy too? This whole early adopter simply just sucks!

Yes, you have to wait. For 2021 job 1 cars, tge only access to the Frunk is from the double pull on the handle. An update to Job 1 cars may come later this year.

Has anyone has the frunk and trunk buttons on their FordPass app suddenly disappear entirely?

I got my 2021 Premium AWD Extended Range in February of this year. I put the FordPass app on my phone, setup PAAK, and - save for OTA updates only happening once or twice before stopping sometime in March and never starting again - all was well for a few months.

Now sometime within the past 72 hours, both the frunk button and the trunk button have simply disappeared from FordPass. I used these buttons all the time. Why would they just vaporize? Is it tied to PAAK?

I ask that because PAAK has broken too. When I try to setup PAAK again from the link in the app, it fails to connect to the vehicle over and over.

The car sometimes shows my existing PAAK, sometimes doesn’t. Regardless of what it shows, PAAK never works anymore, Oddly, the app lets me try to create a second PAAK for my profile with the same name as the existing one, claiming the name is available. I have tried creating a PAAK with a new name, which also fails when trying to connect to the vehicle.

Im about to delete my driver profile in the car and start over. Hesitant because I’ll have to set up every preference and setting again, and of course it may or may not solve anything to do so. But I’m not sure what else to do.

Is this situation due to some app update and/or OTA vehicle update? Who knows. It seems there is no simple way to know what update/version the damned car is even running, and it hasn’t gotten any OTA updates in months, since getting some new map data in March. The update history only shows the most recent single update description, no version number, no version history, and no dates for anything.

It seems neither the dealer nor Ford customer service know anything about the issue.

This all has me imagining what it would be like if I had actual, serious trouble with the car. Would the app, vehicle, dealer, and Ford corporate all simultaneously fail to help then too?
Did you ever get this situation resolved? I cannot set up PAAK either.

There is another thread on this regarding the update, but closing and even deleting and reinstalling the app did not work for me.

If that is the same for you, in FordPass, go into Vehicle >Features and Settings > Paak Settings, and DELETE your current key. Then set it up all over again.

That is the only thing that worked for me.

And no, I do not have a frunk button, and I am salty about it.
Tried deleting PAAK and reinstalling but did not work for me- same issues!

It has been a little while, so my memory is a bit hazy. But as I recall, I ended up deleting my driver profile; removing myself completely from the app (seemingly making my wife the primary account tied to the car in the process) and of course removing the app from my phone; having my wife then re-add me or re-invite me or whatever that action was to associate me with the car again; reinstalling the app; creating a new driver profile; and finally turning on PAAK once more.

I may have a step or two wrong there. But in short I had to sever any digital association between me and the car/app, then put it back together again, and it worked out.

What did not work out, at all, was trying to delete and then recreate a PAAK config WITHOUT also doing all of the above. Quite frustrating.

As Mike says in the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul universe: No half measures.
