Hi all, one more question from me to see if you've experienced this and if there might be a fix.

My phone is always on the wireless charger in the car.

Once connected to Android Auto, the bluetooth and wifi icons at the top of the phone screen start going nuts. Blinking on and off very rapidly.
While it's doing that, the phone gets hotter than normal and, even though it's charging, it's battery slowly depletes.

My car did have to be repaired and the dealership loaned me a 2022 Edge that seemed like it had the same SYNC system. Anyways, this did not happen in the Edge! It only happens in the Mach-E. It works flawlessly in the Edge.

Phone is a Samsung Fold3 with latest software.

Rebooting the phone and/or Sync have no effect.

@Ford Motor Company I'm willing to do anything to help fix this. I'm here if you have questions or need more info or need me to try something.

Thanks!

Wireless Android Auto is a huge drain. That was one of the reasons they never released it wirelessly. Also, the MME wireless charger isnt powerful at all. When I just stream music its good enough to keep my phone (S22 ultra) at the current battery level

I think you missed my point though? This does not happen in other 2022 Ford cars. Even when not charging in other cars (The 2022 Edge as an example), the phone barely drains. Only in the Mach-E does it get really hot and drains quickly.

I only use wired android auto, otherwise my battery vapor, I haven't had wireless before on my other cars so can't tell, but on the Mach E, it's horrible, doesn't connect most of the times.

FDRS is Ford's update system. Black magic and incantations, mostly.

I have a Flip, basically same issues - super duper hot when on wireless charger, but not nearly as bad when wirelessly connected but not charging. Problem seems to mostly be with Waze on screen. If it's hidden, or I'm using Google Maps, not so much of an issue. Waze is a known resource hog, but there's gotta be something else wrong in there.

Get the WACM update to improve charging performance. I suggest you plug in the phone in the meantime.

I gave up wireless charging + wireless AA. phone heats up and barely keeps up the battery with drain. now I always plug in the phone.

also, with my Mach e, AA sometimes drops, either wired or wireless. very annoying if I rely on the navigation going through unfamiliar area.

Seriously, use the cable. In the end it will give you the best AA experience.

I gave up on wireless AA also because it killed my battery. I now just use Google Maps on my phone and the navigation in Sync, and use Bluetooth for music. Even that way the phone battery barely charges on the charging pad.
