Depends on your definition of "finished" I suppose.

Given that list, I don't understand why I get the message that there are no updates when I try to update?

...with FDRS?

Oh, I guess you mean OTA updates?

Yeah these haven't been packaged into an OTA by the Fordarians yet. (or is it Fordaristas? ?)

No, via the mach-e screens.
Yeah...those on the "Mach-E screens" are only for OTAs....and the ones in that list haven't made it into that format yet and been pushed out. But they are available for updating by FDRS.

Fire up the Mongoose!

I will look into it! Any risk of tanking the HW modules in the car? Are all the SW updates that Ford releases fully tested?

Well they are all "fit for purpose" at the time they're released (as far as you know).

Until they're not...and then they're updated to do the same things in a new and improved way later and it's "rinse and repeat".

But you have to admit it's entertaining.

Yeah, several of those updates were part of the latest recall for the HVJB issues. So there's that.

That update came out while my car was in the shop. I asked them to install it and they assured me it would be installed. The service manager said it had a green check on his screen so it was done.

But I was pretty sure they didn't do it

Well all those updates for the PCM, SOBDMC, BECM, SOBDM, and SOBDMB are essentially the recall. So nope. They didn't do them.

But if they signed that off on your paperwork you should call and point it out to them.

Wow, the green check means the module doesn't have any codes, it doesn't mean it's up to date! He has to click on the SW updates tab and keep going until the modules listed in the recall don't show up anymore.

I'd go right back and tell him he didn't do the recall updates. Remind him that lying about performing safety recalls is serious business. Ford has fired technicians and service managers for doing this, and fined dealers heavily for this deceptive practice.
