I've had a Polestar 2 for over a month now. Moving to AA is a mistake, IMHO (and that's not even mentioning the privacy issues going with Google.)

I thought Ford's was kinda buggy and less elegant until I got a crash course with the Polestar rental. Last week they finally got CarPlay working but it isn't fully implemented compared to the MME. The most recent update did fix some of the bugs (like putting the car into reverse) but it's still not arguably better than the sw in the MME.

As others have said I expect to see sw interface changes before long with the AA switch happening for the 24 MY with new HW.

I have also driven the polestar 2 for the last few months and disagree. Their infotainment screen and driver dash are way ahead of Ford. I love having google maps in front of me... Not just a little arrow pointing.

Something like this would be fantastic in the Mach-E. The infotainment system really needs a UX overhaul. So much screen real estate is wasted on the Mach-E screens.

Objectively, that looks awful. I want vehicle driving information front and center. Speed and simple vehicle status info. I shouldn’t be digesting and processing map information. Now, if they want to project AR-type map data up in the driver’s field of view, that would probably be great. What you’re showing a picture of though? No thanks.

I’d like this vs the current version. Not sure why they don’t give us more frequent incremental updates but I suspect the entire team is focused on Android Automotive right now.

So the F150 Lightning doesn’t get a “birds-eye” view like we do?

Ok, I’m not up on my internet abbreviations? Or is that a Hawaiian-specific one? ?
Well it could be an abbreviation for Quantum Field Theory. But it’s pretty safe to assume that all I know about that is that there is such a thing.

In this case though …

For those who want a basic screen with a simple click of a button you get this.

That’s better. Now, can you get rid of the Google bits so we don’t have to be concerned about privacy quite so much? And how much software development is in china?

I still think this is a horrible design.
Why is there a big blank space in the middle?
Why is the power bar so thiccc, but the charge bar so thin?
Why does it say Charge to the left over the powerbar, but show the charge percent on the right of the power bar?
Why is some of the text orange and some white?
Its just like they took the small text on the screen with the map and blew it up with no regard for how it actually would look.

I don't think this has anything to do with it being android auto, but I don't think we should be looking at the polestar for design guidelines..

IMO the user interface on the Polestar looks like something you would get on a $50 Huawei tablet. I don't like it or even the concept of Android automotive.

What is the Chinese parts content on the Polestar? I've heard 99%, but I (oddly) can't find an image of a Polestar monroney anywhere.
