Because EAP provides a large Beta test environment before sending the update to tens of thousands of cars. When the BlueCruise OTAs went through, the 2.5.x series was tested on EAP members, then it was updated, and 2.8.x went to everyone. Testing is a good thing.
BlueCruise came out OTA? Starting to resent these new threads a bit ;). But keep them coming I am only 16-18 OTA updates behind now Link. Gets everyone hyped talking about updates they never get especially for those still on 1.7.1. Kind of given up on this car actually getting updated OTA here as last was months ago when I complained to my dealer about the lack of them when conversing about another problem. Appears they can push them they just don't.

I haven’t followed your OTA saga. Has the car been to the dealer for the stuck on 1.7.1 problem? There is a solution for that, though iirc some require more solution to than others.

I am on 2.7.1 (my bad). Really just looking for door buttons to be more consistent and stuff like that and have not got involved in OTA too much. The car does things sometimes and then not and does it right just enough to keep you trying. Need the basics to work and doors and seat position glitches are not basics since the doors open eventually. For me I am hoping my contact stuck 12V draining problem in the cold has nothing to do with it welding in the heat or the hvjb defect. That is the fix we are currently pushing. If the car maintains its 12V I am good and the rest is whining (which I can do). Want the latest software on the modules involved in turning on the dc to dc and charging the 12V. Thinking that means I need the recall. I have scheduled this with a whine list attached and will be going in again.

I actually wish I could roll back my updates to factory new and do just the HVBJB recall OTA. My car behaved far better before any of the updates were done. I’m not just referring to OTAs either.

With no charging schedule and a defective sobdmc out of the box I have never been in your shoes yet. I am of the feeling that you go into the dealers and it is installed fresh then everything is working great for a while but memory leaks and corruption puts you back in the same place over time. You going back to the beginning may just be a fresh install and buy you some time. Just a feeling based on 35 years of messing with AI. The software can be refined.

Yeah. I understand that. I had literally no problems with this car until I took it to the dealer for its 10K miles check, the PAAK update, 21P22 and something else that skips my mind this early. I live on an island. There are no BlueCruise roads here. I could’ve gone without that whole update cycle. When we move back to the mainland, I could’ve taken the car to a dealer for that.

Now, PAAK is far less reliable. In a year of driving I had PAAK fail exactly once. Now it’s a regular thing. I get the mislock chirp at least 1/2 the time now. The charge settings don’t work quite right now either. The car ping pongs when hands on BC is engaged; it never used to.

What’s also very true though is that correlation does not equal causation.

A dust speck in the pacific ocean. No blue cruise up here either.

These bugs never bothered me I just slap it around. You can tell the ones that you need to treat rough. It was your graph that did it 🤣 . She did not touch it too much to begin with and I think it was a bit of a shock. Now she is learning it and using it more and she is getting comfortable 👍. It is the bugs that bug her that got me looking if they could be fixed. She does not like the mirrors do not fold in all the time or it just does not lock when she walks away. Me I hit the lock button to see if they go in. If not I walk away ;). All well up here not studying that graph anytime soon but do take note margarine. 👍

Good: These issues sound like ones fixed with the latest BCM software.
Bad: I don't think the latest BCM software is part of any of the OTAs up to this point, or at least in the OTAs your vehicle has received.

I genuinely like the car. Outside of the mislock issue, the issue are generally pretty mild. The car’s automation checks have never liked Hawaii County’s bizarre lane striping scheme anyway, so I just drive. Center lane rumble strips mess with the cameras I bet. The DCFC uses the F part loosely here. Everything is 50 kWh and are ancient Greenlots machines.

The charge setting issues are probably GPS related. On that note, we live next to the second largest military training area in the country. War games gave been ongoing for two months. There may be a correlation there.

Don't get too excited over the dual phones. Still not working like it should. They also took away the ability to select a phone as a favorite. So it connects automatically to the last phone connected and you have to manually connect the second phone. In a household where my wife and I share the Mach E this doesn't work out too well. For should put some better thought into this.

Also today for the first time, it didn't auto select my profile when I unlicked the car. Didn't notice until we were driving and noticed my presets were all screwed up. Tried changing to my profile but wouldn't do anything. Had to wait till we were home, turned off the car, locked it, etc. and the profiles were working again.

I love this car but the software is driving me crazy!

Let me amend this to say it has possibilities but it is indeed buggy right now. In a perfect world, should be able to have my (and my wife's) phone connected via BT so either of us can take a call over the car's mic/speakers and also be able to use our our collective contacts to make outbound calls.

To setup, you do have to go in and just add/connect the second phone so you have the BT icon lit up for both. I don't want to make this a bigger deal than it is, only takes a second.

However, in practice, this has completely blown up my ability to use Alexa and the Ford Streaming functionality. When both phones are connected, Alexa still responds when you say the name and can speak a command, however the request (whether for navigation, or to listen to music, etc.) doesn't go through.

Likewise, we've taken phone calls where you can still hear radio in the background which is annoying.

Everything is a bit of a mess so I disconnected the dual option and things now work as they should again.

Hopefully, this gets fixed as the concept is sound, but the execution at present is flawed.

How does one know what software your car is on? I have an April 2022 build and have never received an OTA update. The system update screen on mine, where everyone else's shows the version number, just says "Your system is up to date" 🤷🏼‍♀️

We assume walk away lock and door buttons is fixed in a BCM update; not my 12V dying? If the 12V what am I asking for?

After over a year and a half I made a list and am going in to a dealer for service. We will see where it goes. Too long and way too far behind at this point was my opinion. Happy wife and all.

What is the Best and Proper way to do these power-UP Updates ?
Car in Garage for best WiFi
I note that it seems to require about one hour :
Is it best to leave the Car fully powered ON
OR
Full accessory power ?
When I start the update I get a gray button (Update pending) and after a long time ~45 minutes then come back and the car is shut down totally but the update is complete

No, once you hit accept/install shut the car off and exit the vehicle. Come back in an hour or two.

Is CarPlay navigation complete crap for anyone else with 3.3.1?

I had to reboot/reset sync 7 times in a row today before any maps app would work. I have had to reboot/reset sync at least once every time I have started the car since getting 3.3.1.

Until I reboot/reset sync none of the mapping apps will show the current location on the screen.

Some of the times not only is CarPlay affected but the built in navigation is also unable to display the current location.

I had the occasional issue with wireless CarPlay connecting before the updates but never gps issues.
