I'll keep checking in FP to see if it shows up. I actually did have a Frunk button in FP a while back after a BCM update, but it didn't work. Ford later removed it server side, so we know they can flip switches to have things appear and disappear in FP.
If it was going to appear on its own, My guess it would happen after you drive, and power the car off. That is when the car phones home and reports status.

Yes, its very possible. Another reason I wish an FDRS subscription would let you view TSB data as well. Or at least make FDRS popup when you update a module that this update has a dependency on another module or something. Ford is really making it too easy for dealers and end users to not get it done properly.
I made this note for the tech tomorrow, trying to be as nice as possible and will leave it on the seat, think it will work?

There is a chance that once the car checks in with the new software it will enable the button in FP.
Or possibly a logout/login process will force an FP process update. It’s happened before. ?ā€ā™‚?

Might also want to leave some donuts with it, just in case. :)
Hoping they'll be appreciative of the time saved figuring out the error in lieu of donuts lol

Just tried that. No dice.
I'd watch it the next day or two and see if it appears. It could just be it checks the database for changes once a day or something and then updates features.

Or they are waiting for a more official release to enable it for everyone.

??? Trying not to get too excited just yet, but this is the one feature I’ve been anxiously waiting for as well. Makes me feel my Mach E will finally be complete. Hoping the update goes smoothly for everyone.

Finally!!! Looks like I need to find someone nearby to do me some updates since my hands free tailgate no longer works once the dealer had the damage repaired… ? really don’t want to take my problem child back to the dealer.

I’m currently looking around under the rear bumper in the hopes that a electrical connection to the sensor was just not reattached. Thanks for the good news @generaltso!

Before I start, if you have a Job 2 or 2022 MME, you don't need to chime in and tell us that you've had a functional frunk button since Day 1. We know, but Job 1 cars haven't.

Ford released new updates for the BCM (Body Control Module) and GFM (Generic Function Module) last night in FDRS that seem to have activated the electronic release mechanism for the frunk. There was still no button on the screen, but the emergency release button inside the frunk and the keypad control both worked. I'm sure Ford will push an APIM config eventually to add the missing button to the Sync screen, but @i8iridium posted the line where it can manually be changed with FORScan here.

All of this is to say that @Jimrpa 's frunk button really does seem to finally be coming. If you have FDRS and FORScan, you can get it today (still not in FordPass though). If you don't have FDRS, please don't call your dealer and ask them for the updates. There is no current service campaign for it, and there may not be before it starts rolling out OTA. But this is progress, right?
Congrats, but I think you mean your 2021 Job 1 MME, right? (The post title says 2022)
