... to prevent accidental frunking.
The worst (or best) kind of frunking.

Curious for you new frunkers when you hit emergency button, do you get the warning on the IPC that the emergency button was used? Usually happens on the next startup, unless the vehicle is already running.

No, I haven't seen that. When the frunk is open, I do get two messages on the IPC though. One says the frunk is ajar and the other says the hood is ajar.

This is an important one. Otherwise, how will you know that your um ... groceries escaped while you made a pit stop.

Not really. Now that I have it, I'll probably never use it. But don't tell @Jimrpa .
As I’ve said in the past, because of the layout of my garage and house, I have a unique use case that actually makes the frunk very handy.

Good point. Is the emergency button disabled while the car is in motion? I mean, a kidnap victim might want to get out while driving, but it would suck if some cargo shifted and hit that button while cruising on the highway. It would suck even more in a Lightning.

You just have to contort yourself into the frunk, slam it shut, and hope for the best. Or, like @Logal727 said, you can just press the button with the frunk open and listen for the sound.
I'm clearly too big for this idea and was hoping it would involve a trained lemur or at least a puppy and peanut butter on the button.

This warning threw me off the first time it got it on my GT. I was cleaning out the frunk and hit the button while I was wiping down the inside, and then the next day got in the car and got that as soon as I turned on the car. Glad to know you get a warning that someone may have escaped!

it does, at least in drive with the parking brake applied. Screen controls are grayed out. obviously can’t try it at speed unless I put it on the lift. Not sure if it takes in account for it already being open.

I wish they had a frunk button on the key fob and while I'm complaining, why didn't they put a remote start button? I love the one on our challenger, especially when it's super hot outside.
You remote start it through the app which is much better since you don't need to be within fob range
