This. Excellent advice.

Ford has worked wonders in just getting things started up again given the worldwide supply chain disruptions. They've actually made up some ground as well but we can't roll back the clocks completely. Look at late December deliveries as the equivalent of late September deliveries pre-pandemic. It's not that far off normal in that light.

It's worse in other manufacturing areas. I have 10 acres to mow and tend, I can't get a compact tractor or riding mower. I can't get a trailer to haul them in for maintenance. The dealers have nothing in stock and have no clue when any new stock is arriving. And used? Prices are higher in some cases than new ones. The dealers point to manufacturers, manufacturers point to parts suppliers, parts suppliers point to sub-component suppliers. On and on it rolls and will continue to do so unless SARS-COV-2 mutates out of existence or a widespread and effective vaccine is in place.

Take the car and enjoy being on the leading edge of a new and exciting part of the electric revolution. The tax credit will still be around all of next year. The rest of us are waiting for your delivery pictures and experiences.
Unfortunately I just don’t think Ford can send 1-2 FE’s on a train or in a truck to a particular location. They need a full load somewhere in the process, all the way to the end. Plus the logistics of the assembly line. There’s just no way they can build and deliver all FE’s everywhere at the same time (or in exact reservation order) and also then not build other models until all that’s done. Will most of the 2000-5000 FE’s be delivered before all other 50,000 vehicles? Yep. A few days/weeks either way over the course of a 50,000 vehicle model year for a new BEV in a pandemic that closed the factory and suppliers is actual pretty good if you ask me. And no I don’t have a build date yet for my FE...

Something is not right with all of this.
Either Ford actually scheduled him ahead of 50,000 other people, or his dealer is clueless and knows that customer builds start on Nov 23rd and pulled a date out of his.. thin air.

I am going with the latter.

Based on the sampling...CA is the first batch with N.Cal in the 11/23 range while SoCal in the 11/30.

@Administrator Can you lock & redirect some of the threads on production schedule? Looks like there are multiple threads on this same topic with information scatter throughout.

I know it isn't your fault - but it certainly pisses me off that you get a build date a week before me, and reserved a week after me.

OK, I'll accept your position. But then explain why my dealer is getting three cars that are not confirmed orders built ahead of mine? Would it really hurt to put mine on that same truck?

Couldn't agree more. So far I'm frustrated with there being no rhyme or reason to the reservation sequencing and build dates, as well as the lack of info about where the Mach Drops are falling in production. Now it sounds like the reservation system really had no value at all other than drumming up anticipation for those holding them. I'm having a difficult time remaining positive. I guess I'm finally getting impatient.
Sounds like the priority code trumps reservation. It makes at least a little bit of sense for the dealer to leave the priority at 19 for those that the dealer had to agree to returning the deposit if not happy with the vehicle, no ADM, A or Z plan with lower margins, etc...

on the plus side, once scheduled it shouldn't be pushed back...

Then wasn't it incumbent on the dealer to reach out and prioritize appropriately? I mean honestly, it was a no cost referral for them at that point. I remember getting an eMail from the dealer saying, "if I had any questions reach out to them and they really hoped I chose their dealership." Well guess what, I did choose their dealership and I didn't ask any questions, gave them $500 and I still ended up priority 19.

Time does matter. Some states tax incentives end December 31, 2020. For me, it would be a $2,500 difference. This does not even include the present value of filing the tax credit with the 2020 returns versus 2021 returns. I know you can change your W4 to take out the difference but that is still less in NPV.

Also as a FE buyer, we are paying $3600 more than an AWD ER Premium for a car that has some cosmetic differences. That FE premium is losing its luster.

Yup agree - my premium was reserved late May - at least I should get earlier dibs than a recent order :)

Wow - just was off internet for the whole day and all hell breaks loose :) But my Bronco sport I reserved (and I dont need it) got scheduled for Dec 14 - may be I will get that before my MachDrop FE

MachDrop FE were priority code 10 - the highest priority as far as I understand but seems to not be working the MachDrop FEs favor

I was hoping to ask someone with more knowledge about this process. I ordered my mach e last week with no reservation. I understand it will be here much later than the dealer thinks. I am concerned I could be one of the first ones to order from this dealer and they don't have alot of experience with this process. My question is should my order show as accepted on the ford reservation page? I asked the dealer this and the salesperson's gm said everything looks good on their end and was sent to the factory. It looks like everything else they direct order from the factory. He also thinks it will never change to accepted. I just want to make sure they have it ordered and I dont see much info on orders that are placed later in this process. Thanks for any help.
