Any update? Very curious if you did have the -B HVBJB and it still failed.

They have ordered the new HVBJB, but have been given an ETA of two weeks by Ford.

The dealer looked into it and think the part used last time was the old part. They say Ford tells them the new part became available a couple weeks after my last repair so they do not believe it is the new updated part number.

I don’t understand how it can take two weeks. I though everyone else was getting the part in days. Bad luck for you for sure.

No, the HVBJB issue was first identified in the field by MME customers, long after the 5 second limit was established.

On 6/15/22 Jim Farley posted on Twitter:

We detected the Mach-E issue on dealer demo units. We are addressing this quickly through a Ford Power-Up software update (at home or at dealership) to be as convenient as possible for customers.

I don’t understand how it can take two weeks. I though everyone else was getting the part in days. Bad luck for you for sure.

I agree, I don’t know if it will actually take two weeks to get the part (like the dealer is telling me) or if the dealer just doesn’t have the capacity to get the job done done sooner. Like a lot of dealers the techs at my dealership have a 4 day work week so even if the part came in today the tech working on it won’t be back in until Monday.

Are they going to be able to confirm once they drop your battery? Please try and get them to take a picture of the HVBJB part number in your car. I know that’s super tough for techs, but I need peace of mind lol

I have asked them for that, but I am pretty sure they are right and I have the old part. It looks like I missed getting the updated part by about 10 days last time, which makes sense why it failed almost in exactly the same mileage as the first one did.

It would have been more accurate if he had posted "We have confirmed the Mach-E issue". He makes it sound like Ford found it first, but that is not correct based on what was reported in this forum.

I am at 6k miles. Looking forward to a failure soon

I have a feeling a lot of non-GT owners will not have any problems for quite some time (if ever). I am an unusual case where a non-GT owner has a lot of wide open throttle events. A lot of owners live in an areas where there are not a lot of opportunities (or desire) to have repeated wide open throttle events.

Plus with the new software, I would have little to no anxiety since now the car will tell you ahead of time if a failure is in your near future.

This is along the lines I have been thinking. When are the GT failures occurring? I think Todd has gone really far in his GTPE, so he might have the record so far. I am approaching 15k with no failure yet, but I don't have the recall software applied.

Should I start a poll, or does someone else want to? I have a feeling I may have a failure in my near future, but I would like to see what the distribution of failures and mileage are. The poll needs to delineate SSN and SVS, as SSN is a hard failure, SVS is a pending failure.

Yeah, but just saying it is the "old part" doesn't say much. It could be that they've now detected the -B variant as being ineffective at preventing failure and the -C part is now the correct, current part. Especially if your paperwork says it has the updated part... there is no way they'd have that part number if the part wasn't out yet.

I recall a woman posting that theirs went out within the first weeks, but unsure of the trim.

I wonder if there are any GTs out there in the wild with over 30k miles that have NOT failed? I have said it before, but the solution here is for @Ford Motor Company to replace the HVBJB in every GT when they come in for their regular 10k or 20k service
