I didn't hear the sound from your audio file but have been hearing a buzz from the front for some time. Don't know whether it's the IPC that everyone is discussing or if it's something else. Anyone want to take a guess?

I hear the pedestrian sounder... Was the gear selector in Drive when you recorded this?

Yes. It goes off when in Neutral or Park. Doesn't show itself all the time and I can't figure out what makes it come on when it does.

I’m sure you could hack it to sound like an ice cream truck.

But it might have the opposite effect of what you want (kids would run towards your car).

The sound is for the visually impaired, among others. They don’t want to have a metric ton of different sounds all of which means an electric vehicle is nearby and probably moving. It’s much simpler for them to know two or three different sounds as it’ll result in quicker recognition.

Never had given much thought to the backstory of creating the various sounds, both the melodic and the crappy. ?

Might try to get mine replaced under warranty. Hmm.

They all have it. Newer ones aren’t as loud. If you notice, not many 2022 owners complaining.

Our 22 has the issues but it comes a goes mostly on longer trips on rougher roads at 70+mph. In town, we’ve only hear it a couple of times. AC blasting and music turned up you hardly notice
