I got the message below about Electrical System Drain twice in the last two days on both FordPass and a few seconds on starting the MME.

The SOC% was what I expected and the car ran normally. Is this anything I should be concerned about?

BTW, I don’t shave anything in the ob2 slot or anything aftermarket attached.

From your post history my guess is the ev.energy utility management thing you signed up for is causing it.

Log in and remove your vehicle from your ev.energy account, or change your FordPass account password. Do not give your Ford password to any 3rd parties, including utility charging programs.

It amazes me that people don't figure that out. Plus the hits on the account that Ford will notice.

I will do as you advise. Thanks

I have had the same issue and also had an EV.energy account integration set up. Disconnecting it made no difference. The dealer did an extended test and determined that the APIM is drawing way too much power when the car is “key off”. They ordered a replacement APIM a couple of weeks ago and I’m waiting for it to arrive.

What is the APIM? I turned the EV.energy back on because I was refreshing it and FordPass constantly and thought I was causing the issue. FYI, I changed my FordPass password and EV.energy was still reading the data. I saved the error message and I’ll also contact the dealer.

Yours is being caused from when you enrolled in the Charge Smart MA app. They use a 3rd party API broker called SmartCar to ping your car. You unenrolled from Charge Smart MA, but SmartCar is probably still pinging your car. You need to change your FordPass password and I bet that fixes it. The APIM is not going to sleep because it's being pinged constantly by SmartCar, not because it's bad (or at least that's what I think). CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD.

Leave EV.energy disabled for two days as a test. Stop turning it on and off. If you changed your FordPass password, EV.energy should not update anymore, but it might take a day or two to register. It can still access your ChargePoint and control it, but it shouldn't know your % battery or miles of range anymore if you are successful at revoking access.

I changed my FordPass password 2 days ago and the EV.energy app was still getting SOC updates.
I’ll cancel my EV.energy Account, which takes 7 days, and see if that resolves the Electrical Drain. I’ll know after 7 days.
Unfortunately my EVSE is a JuiceBox which the EV.energy app can’t access.

I just changed my password. Weeks ago, I went through a long and arduous process to make sure that EV.energy and SmartCar were fully disconnected. Only my ChargePoint is connected. Hope this makes a difference...

I’m in that EV.energy disconnection process right now by closing Account. FordPass Password was changed 2 days ago. If it wasn’t for the UI/Eversource rebate I never would have done the EV.energy app.

My JuiceBox is not a supported EVSE in EV.energy.

How did you disconnect EV.energy and SmartCar? Did you cancel your EV.energy account and the re-enroll without linking the FordPass?

I contacted customer service via email. I have ChargeSmart MA. I also reached out to EV.energy via phone. It was a nightmare.

Last night I emailed EV.energy asking that my MME be disconnected from the app. This morning they confirmed by email, and I confirmed, that my MME is no longer connected and online in EV.energy.

They suggested that instead of closing my EV.energy Account, I continue participating in the UI/Eversourse smart charging program by providing EV.energy the ID for my JuiceBox EVSE which they’ll connect on the back end. This solution is what I wanted.

I found EV.energy’s support to be knowledgeable and quick to respond to issues.
