OR don't get a MachE at all and buy an old leaf.

[/QUOTE]
Wow, those are your ONLY 2 Options?? LOL..... Sounds like you really want this Mach E!!! Yes, the income restrictions Suck for next year. I imagine a lot of us that can afford this car will be phased out of the rebate next year. I hate ADM, but it is America. Go Get it since your only alternative is an "old Leaf"

FWIW, walk in, offer $5k over, and tell them you will buy now. If they say no, walk out. See who blinks first. I bet they do……and if not, sometimes the best deals you make are the ones that you don’t……
I could not agree more. ?

For starters, it clearly appears (because the OP is asking on a forum) whether this is a good deal or not?

The "real" way is to smoke them out so to speak.

If I feel the deal is amazing, I usually can't say, "I will take it" fast enough.

If the deal has me wondering, I usually low ball and walk out the door saying that I can find a better deal else where.

I can't tell you how many times I would get a phone call within the next 1 or 2 days with a much lower price.

If you get no call back and you really want it, go back and "seal the deal".

I don't see these vehicles moving any time too fast with high ADM and the consumer is actually holding the cards with the interest rates going up. Like you said, the Dealer is paying for everyday it sits.

I wouldn't say that (the dealer blinks first).

I see my dealer has +$15k ADM on Premiums and +$10k-$20k on GTs. It's true a buyer can walk out, but my dealer has had $15k ADM since forever on non-ordered cars so someone is paying and someone is buying them.

No matter what happens, there will always be rich/well off people so it all still boils down to supply/demand and until that fixes, I don't think a buyer has much pull/power because gas, I've seen is close to $7 in CA now and OPEC is cutting production. Unlike a cell phone that still works, (mature/saturated market) some folks are just getting their first EV and demand will continue to be high in the years to come I feel.

OP still just needs to evaluate their situation and see if the $9k is worth it or in a week or 2, I'd guess the car will probably be gone to someone else.

Traveling outside of CA is difficult as I'm very very busy at work. Another bonus is they're willing to deliver to me for free
I bought my 21' from 2 states away. Paid $500 or so (forget exactly) for delivery. Got is at Xplan rate.

Paying $9k over is the easy button. Given your situation description that seems like it's worth it. Or call around. These aren't as popular elsewhere. It only hurts when you go to sell the car.

In NY you have to buy in state to get the state credit, would cost me $500 (state credit on GTPE) to buy in another state.

I think OP is between a rock and a hard place, the same place I was at, not wanting to pay over MSRP, but the ADM makes the GT more expensive than a GTPE at MSRP or ordered new (23). I went looking for a GTPE at every dealership without an ADM and got lucky and fell into a cancelled order and now am waiting for it to be built this week. If you can't find one at MSRP (even giving up state credit if applicable) then this will cost you less, after tax credit than a 23 so do it. But exhaust every other option first, I know buying a GT for GTPE money would kill me, but if I did not get lucky, I likely would have considered what you are considering today. Thankfully the gods were smiling upon me, and I did get lucky. Got to work those phones to have any chance. I agree with others though doubt that GT is flying out the door you have a bit of time.

Be patient. There will *always* be another deal. Take the emotion out of it if you have not done so already. Order a MY23 right now, and then keep looking.

No matter what, that $9k ADM is real money - think about what you could buy with $9k sitting in your pocket.

Or, all car prices go up another 10-15% over the next year (like they did this year) which is nearly certain in which case it's a wash. Producer costs are not going to retreat from their current pace of 8.5% any time soon.

Sorry, the $65K car of today will be in the mid 70's by the end of next year.

Once interest rates and the global recession bite inflation will decline pretty fast. The supply chains are very sensitive to small movements and a 5% reduction in demand will create massive surplus stock.

Next years prices are fairly irrelevant. Most people keep cars 3-4 years so the prices in 2025/6 will impact resales the most. New cars traditionally lose 30-50% of their value in the first 2-3 years so paying above MRSP is a huge risk.

Overall consensus is ya'll happy with your purchase? 75k is a chuck o change to not be completely satisfied at the end of the day.
I love my GT (even after HVBJB issues) and in my case it was a great buy and value since I pre-ordered, had no ADM or dealer add-on's, used X-plan and the $7,500 tax.

I don't think I would buy today for $75K, even do the MME is great its not worth in my mind that kind of money, and paying almost 10K ADM would certainly give me buyers remorse.

If you really need a new car right now and are set on an EV you don't have many options as market conditions are bad, options scarce and all dealers taking advantage.

If you can wait then there are a many new options coming to the EV market and Ford is moving towards the right direction with their EV-Dealer requirements, I would wait or buy an ICE you like with good re-sell value and then trade for an EV later

I would never pay 9K ADM. It will vanish after the demand cools in a few years. I probably will go Model 3 P or MYP. If I have extra cash to blow, probably model S or Taycan. Or wait some more and look at Lyriq & blazer.

I love my MME select though. But only because it is 43K after rebate, good daily car. I never see the 5 Sec limited GT worthy of the price.

Need some quick feedback!

Found a 2022 Mach E GT fully loaded
with glass roof
interior protection
and CoPilot 360

MSRP is 66,410

I've talked the dealer to 9k over, which is best I've found in CA, final price

75,410. Then I've got ford options at 3.9% with $2,000 ford rebate.
Since I can sign the paperwork today I'm also eligible for Fed Tax credit of 7,500

sooo

75,410 - 2000 - 7500 = $65, 910.

Few notes - I have the tax liability to take credit for the 7500. This also gets me a vehicle about 5k lower then next years GT for the same options and I get it today.

I need a gut check - I'm still giving a dealer 9k over MSRP which hurts my soul, but end of day seems like a good deal considering Tax credit loss, 2023 price increase, order delay.

What ya'll think?
Are you sure about the $2000 rebate for Options Plan? Last I saw it expired on 10/3.

These cars are moving fairly fast here, but! Ya'll are definitely right it still is 9k over at end of day. Like I said my dilemma is finding the exact color, options, and trim that's available is getting more difficult as 2022 stock clears out, let alone at MSRP.

Other dealers I've been talking to have been selling the GTs after I walk out the door with 10k markups so people are buying them. The one I test drove last week had 4 appointments after mine.

Still seems to me that at the end of the day someone is getting the markup whether it's the dealer today or ford's price increase next year.

This car has been on the lot for 2 days so I'm going to try and talk them down more this am though.

Yes I got that 2k rebate in writing from the dealer.
Did you apply for the Ford Visa? If the dealer lets you charge $6000 on this for your down payment, you will get $300 off your balance and $300 in Ford credit to use for accessories or service.
