Update - Google released a system update this morning that resolved the PaaK issue. Make sure you update the phone before attempting to connect.

Below is the original post for clarity:

Heads up that in my limited testing with a P7P thus far, the FordPass app will not download the encryption key needed for PaaK to work. If you are expecting a P7 or P7P, keep this in mind.

I'm sure @PaaK_Android might be interested in this tidbit.
The first dialog is expected as the P7 is brand new and calibration is not likely to have been performed. That being said, it should have no bearing on downloading the encryption key. Can you send me the account name you were using @DevSecOps ? I'll have someone look up the failure reason for you so we can get this resolved.

This is the kind of interaction I really wish we could get out of the @Ford Motor Company account.

Bummer! Side question: How's the modem experience with the P7/pro? Any issues with network randomly disconnecting or having the damned ! on the signal bars before a power off/airplane mode toggle?

With the P7 line they are using a Exynos 5300 5G which is a much better modem than the P6 had. I never experienced what you're describing on a P6, so if you have any questions or want me to test something give me the steps to reproduce and I'd be more than happy to.

You already have your 7 Pro? Mine is supposed to be here today. How do you like it?

I wish mine had been reproduceable with consistency. I don't know if it was software or hardware but I would often be out and about and would need to use the phone and would be showing bars but would have no network connectivity. I would either have no calls come through, would not be able to make them, or be unable to pull data without having to toggle airplane mode on and off or reboot the phone.

I was on t-mobile but made a brief test when switching to verizon with it and saw no improvment on verizon either....so I don't think it was carrier related.

It did better at home on wifi but I'd also end up with random wifi drops as well. This made the phone so unusable for me I had to switch to Verizon to take advantage of their switch and payoff option to dump the phone. Now I have an S22 Ultra and going to switch and pay it off back with T-Mobile so I can get back into a Pixel 7 or pro....provided it doesn't have this damned modem issue.

I've had it for about a week now. It's been a decent phone so far. I think if you're going from a P6P to the P7P you might think it's not a very noticable difference. There's a few UI enhancements in Android 13 that are only available on the P7s which are nice. Wireless AA is a little buggy with the MME right now.

Nice, I am upgrading from the P4, so a pretty significant upgrade. Ready for better battery life. I still use wired AA out of habit.

I never had that issue with my P6P and haven't seen anything like that happen with the P7P yet so my guess might be that it was bad hardware.

Did it happen to fall with you onto the frunk ?
