My hands free blue cruise stopped working today. Bought in 2022, online it says valid until 2025. On sync it says hands free blue cruise valid until 10-12-2022… wtf! And I have a trip planned this weekend.
Your car needs a map update.

Thank you for this info. Now got to book a dealer visit for such a trivial thing. Ford chat confirmed that service is active on their servers, so need to talk to technician to fix it.

The BlueCruise map date is written in dd-mm-yyyy format. Your road data is good until December 10.

Again chiming in to say it's insane that the BC Dealer update EXPIRED. Like wtf?
I think it is perfectly reasonable. It was a free 1 yr trial offer. Isn't it normal for promotions to have an window of eligibility? People missed the opportunity to take advantage of the promotion. Those that want BC will now have to subscribe to it.

No, that’s not what I’m talking about. The dealer program was to actually install BC so you could use it. Has nothing to do with the subscription. So people who didn’t get it OTA are screwed now.

So what happens if someone buys a used car and wants to subscribe to BlueCruise? Wouldn't Ford send them the OTA or send them to the dealer to get the software installed?

Same thing happened to mine after day one of ownership. My trial ends in 2025 too. I spent hours on the phone. The blue cruise valid until 10-12-2022 is just the maps, that's supposed to say that, but in settings you have to have the hands free activated AND the prompts. Once I turned on the prompts it worked again. I do not have the speed sign thing turned on.

I had to take my 2021 Select in to get the software installed. Once installed it said I had a year (that was in July). I traded it in a couple of days ago for a GT and it says my BC expiration is in 10/9/2025, so not sure if they are giving 3 years for free now. It was not an extra fee when I bought it.

Nope. The BC is not installed to be activated. The dealer would have to charge for the 12 hour software update unless they make a new customer service program like the one that just expired.

Yes you get free year on 2021s that didn’t have it installed already since you didn’t pay for it when you bought the car. Newer cars it’s included in the purchase price for 3 years

Got it. I was wondering if the 3 years was a mistake. I do love using it.

I just got back from the dealer to get my additional key fob. While there, I asked them to please push through any updates I have not received.

I bought my car in Sept of 2021 -- just background info.

I told the service guy that I still don't have Blue Cruise. He said he looked it up, and I actually do have it....he said they checked and I am "up to date" on everything. Under software updates, my car just says I have the latest (no version, which makes me crazy).

So -- after I left the dealer, I got on Interstate 75 in Dallas, went to cruise control, turned on lane keeping, etc. Saw the bubble on the dash, but still got the same "keep hands on wheel" that I've gotten since I bought the car.

I feel like an idiot to ask this question, but here goes:

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE BLUE CRUISE? I'm so confused and frustrated with the dealer because they were no help other than to tell me I'm wrong and that I actually do have it.

Anyone?

This is what Blue Cruise looks like.

Interesting dilemma. So a buyer in the market for a used MME won't know if the vehicle is BlueCruise capable since the presence of the eye nanny camera is no longer a valid confirmation? I suppose that situation only exists for 2021 models though. Buyer beware I guess...

I'm in the same general situation. Job 1 2021 Premium EX. I waited for the OTA updates that never came (still on 2.7.4 version). I never purchased BC and am really not interested in it - however, the BC update (thanks for the VIN lookup, Mike) also includes numerous ones for non-BC related components (door and seat modules, HVAC, gear shift, for example). I wonder how/if these will be updated, given Ford will no longer pay for the BC update? Probably a question I need to ask Ford.

Here is what I don't understand: Ford sent us communications that BC was coming via OTA. I got most (all?) of the prep series 2.7.x OTA's. On my Ford account, under Connected Sevices, it still says that BC is coming via OTA. It specifically says that i dont have to do anything.

At no point did Ford tell me that I needed to take the car in to have BC manually updated. When I learned of that option, through this forum, I scheduled a service visit for today. When I got there today, they told me the BC install was no longer available. I asked them to find out what options I have.

I haven't verified, but my impression was that Job 1 cars, like mine, were going to receive BC. We would owe $500 ($600 minus the early adopter $100 incentive), but would still get it. It doesn't seem like that is an option.

False advertising? Any other options?
