I just came back From my first solo long distance trip with my mach e (Premium 2022, standard battery). I planned on a learning curve- but the only thing I learned is to NEVER take this car on a road trip again. Not getting into the emotional rollercoaster and panic attacks of running across the state of Ohio and PA. chasing down chargers while on <10% charge countless times. But I rolled into home late last night and plugged the sucker in.
And as of today, No Charge with a note in the Fordpass app that says “You can only resume charge at a charge station.” WTAF. I don’t have enough emotional bandwidth to deal with this for another day. Does anyone know how to fix this? My sales rep is off today. And the service dept has NO clue. Thank you in advance.

Depending on how long you were gone, an update may have reset your home charging location. Look in the car and see if it's setup with a charging limit and charging hours.

Check the charger and see if it's powered on. If it's the Ford charger, and the light isn't blue, try unplugging it and plug it in again.

As to traveling, happy to give you ideas if you want them. Ohio and PA have high speed chargers, a planned trip shouldn't be an issue for most, but not all, parts of those states, but there are gaps. Proper trip planning uses A Better Route Planner, but let's get this resolved. If you then want help on the trip planning to see how it might have worked better, DM me with start and end points and I'll send you a link to a possible routing.

Hmm, sounds weird. What charger are you using at home? Do you have a schedule set?

UPDATE: I just scoured the internet, trying everything I read and I found the solution on the mache club site. Turns out the top of my charger wasn’t plugged in the whole way down. Blue light and all good now. :)

Totally user error. Lesson #344 learned over the last 48 hours, lol!

That's great. As far as your roadtrip goes, a little bit of research of chargers on your routes goes a long way. Use the built-in nav in conjunction with apps like PlugShare and ABRP to make sure you have a plan.

Did you happen to get a screenshot of that message telling you to charge at a charge station?

It's amazing how different everyone experience is with road trips.

I was a little nervous when I commited my family to EV road trips or renting a car but my experiences thus far have apparently been the opposite of yours.

Don't give up on road trips, try again once the prior pain has had a chance to fade.

Also happy to chat about road tripping your Mach-e if you want to. We have used ours to go everywhere from Pittsburgh PA, to Portland ME, to Montreal CA. Never had any issues and never want to go back to ICE road trips.

ABRP is now incorrectly suggesting Tesla SuperChargers for CCS vehicles, with no way to ignore them. Basically impossible to plan a route!

That's good news that you fixed the problem. On another note, my charger wouldn't work one day a few weeks ago after a power outage. I reset the breaker and it started charging again.

I just had this problem this week. My charger hangs from the 240V NEMA plug, and either just time or the weather getting colder making things shrink up a bit seems to have caused the charger unit to slip down from the plug itself. Not enough that the charger fell to the ground, but just enough to disrupt the connection. Oddly, the connection wasn't "fully" broken, as it was connected enough that the yellow warning light was still on. I squeezed the connector back in the few millimeters it had come apart, and all was well, but I will have to come up with a way to mount the charger to the wall so this won't happen again.

you might want to edit your top post title and text to show the problem was [solved, user error] just so people don't have to read down thru the thread to see you've figured it out....
