10/21/21 Ordered
8/8/22 Purchase
No refund as of today
Dealer said that check will be mailed from Ford directly to me. Is anyone else hearing this or waiting on dealer to write the check?
That's first time I heard about checks coming directly to you from Ford. From what I have read on these forums and other users experience, the dealers will write the check to you after they receive the money from Ford.

My dealer told me the same thing. Purchased mine 8/5 and haven't seen or heard anything yet.

Ford pays your dealer. Then your dealer pays you. That is how it goes. Make sure your dealer is not trying to pull a fast one....

Also, if any of you bought your car with Xplan, the xplan rules state that the dealer MUST give you price protection. I bought mine with Xplan on 10/14 and I am waiting for the dealer to cut me a check.

X plan does give the option to the dealer to mail a check later or adjust the price upfront. This option is on the AXZD-Plans Pricing Agreement form you will sign if using xplan (see page 2) of agreement.

Full links to docs:
AXZD-Plans Pricing Agreement: https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/pdf/AXZD-PlanPricingAgreement.pdf

Xplan Rules: https://www.fordpartner.com/partnerweb/jsp/howitworks/fordpartner_rules.htm#faq19

Excerpt from X-plan rules regarding price protection I reference above (again underline is my adding). Remember the invoiced xplan price will be tied to the window sticker MSRP:

6. PRICING AND INCENTIVES

  • The dealer is required to provide you with a true copy of the factory invoice showing the Partner Recognition price on the line labeled X-Plan. You should also receive a complete and signed AXZD-Plan Pricing Agreement showing each item and its price. Do not sign this form if it is blank or if you do not understand how the price was calculated. All added items must be documented on this form, including negative equity on trade, and gifts.
  • The X-Plan price is the amount shown in the box labeled "X-Plan" near the bottom of the factory invoice. The New Vehicle Purchase Program price includes advertising, finance costs, transportation, fuel charges and Ford Motor Company or Lincoln Motor Company administrative fees. The dealership may not charge extra for these items.
  • The New Vehicle Purchase Program customer is entitled to the price in effect at the time the vehicle was invoiced. Any money refunded to the dealer by Ford Motor Company or Lincoln Motor Company for price increases occurring after the order is submitted, but before shipment to the dealer, must be refunded to the customer.

I bought my using the X-Plan and it's well over 3 months since I bought it. Still no words on that refund check from the dealer.

I'd follow back up and send them the language from the xplan rules above if you didnt already have that discussion.

My dealer sent an email to me saying that he must pay me when ford pays him b/c we are using xplan.

If you look at the first page of the thread, most of dealers toward the bottom of the matrix, are well into the 90 plus day range for payment. I would suggest pinging the dealer to check on status if you are over 90 days. When I finally pinged by dealer, things seemed to start to move. Of course, I got the dealer song and dance routine...oh we mailed that a month ago...let me check with the back office....I will get back to you. I just kept emailing them with follow questions. If you sent the check, then it is lost so please cancel it and send another. What did the back office say? When will you get back to me? Polite persistence. If they do not have the check from Ford, there is not much you can do to get the money. Then it is just a waiting game.

Ford reimburses their dealers once every month. My dealer told me they get a statement from ford on the 22nd of every month (not sure if its the same date for each dealer, but each dealer should get it once a month). There are tons of transactions a dealer does and all of these are aggregated on one sheet and there is a net payment to or from Ford depending on the overall status with the dealer. He actually printed out the sheet and showed me what it looks like. Your VIN will be on that sheet with the value assigned from ford with the reimbursement, when it comes in. Ford says it could take 45 days to process a sale and credit a dealer, so if anyone is past 3 months sale date its safe to say that the dealer has probably already been notified of your reimbursement status.

And again - if you bought w xplan - the dealer MUST reimburse you. Its clear from the language.

Thank you for the info, I am not sure what Xplan is, but I purchased outright so I will be harassing the dealership since they keep telling me that Ford will send the check directly to me. =(

Hi, I took delivery of my MME 7/12 and have not received my check yet. Every time I ping my dealer he tells me Ford has not paid any reimbursements to them in months.

Delivered: 7/12/22
Dealer: Autonation Ford Tustin

I just received my check, about 100 days after delivery. Perhaps closer to 110.

An enclose form letter said they are typically paid within 45 days. Interestingly, they told me to expect up to 3 months at time of delivery.

I have to give props to the Mullinax Ford group of dealerships.

Both times they honored price protection at signing AND in my last one there was an underpayment to close my Ford Credit loan due to an autopay that triggered a day after trade-in. This was refunded by check less than 2 weeks later without me asking (plus excess registration fees refunded) AND this dealer performed the HVBJB recall fix a day or so after it was released.
