Good points. Not a bait and switch but something awfully similar. I feel like we are on the precipice of a return to MSRP and deeper incentives. It will only take one OEM to up production and stock dealer lots. Others will follow and we will see a return of MSRP. Higher interest rates. Collapsing housing market. It's happening now.
Ok - if you think that demand is falling and prices will fall to MSRP or below, then wait till January. Makes sense.

The other side of that coin is that as demand falls, production and availability could fall to keep pace. Most car companies, Ford included indicated they were not going to fill up car lots again built on speculation. They would only build orders. They want to do this to avoid big carrying costs and discounting. We will see.

With the low supply, no dealer inventory, problems with build parts/chips, and high demand - I don't think the MME prices will change much even in a recession or high rates especially here in California.

Unless an MSRP priced MME shows up before the end of the year, I will hold out on my incoming '23 MME since I have a $6K PCO and decide if I will take her depending on the tax credit.

It will only take ONE. Once one OEM ramps up production and fills lots then others will follow. It will happen. Low margins high volumes. There are a lot of Americans who are looking for a new car, but can't get one due to price or availability, there's a huge market out there. The OEM who captures this market first will do very well.

Nice, congrats! Time will tell. Parts and chips shortage are only momentary. We'll see.

Advice vs being told that I am "not looking at the numbers right" are much different especially when this person was truly not looking at the entire picture. Im not sure when you were looking for your car but things are changing daily as we get closer to the end of the year. 5k markup in state is reasonable.

I'm not on here to make friends. If someone doesn't like that I refuted advice it isn't personable. Some people share your sentiment but I have also received input from others who share mine. So I don't really care if you kick rocks or not, but I'm not really looking for your opinion on how I should or shouldn't respond to bad advice.
Hey, you do you. I'm not here to make friends either but it's been great to read, learn, and interact with a large group of fellow owners. Some of these people are incredibly knowledgeable and have gone out of their way to share their experiences to help others. I've even had a couple of interactions via DMs with legitimate Ford employees on some issues I've had, and they reached out to me directly.

I'd wager, if I knew some of these people in real life it may even lead to friendship.

Good luck on your car search. I hope you find what you are looking for. I'll see myself out now and stop bumping this thread.

ya would be interesting to see what they would say but at the end of the day if that dealer wants to pull moves like this than that's their prerogative

So true!

Between this forum and the F150 Lightning forum I have learned quite a lot from very helpful folks.

From this forum, a Ford employee contacted me about an issue with OTA updates not received and on his own time, got my truck updates I wanted the following week.

Some people are not as polite or courteous, but that's what makes the world go around...

Yes, dealers are not controlled by Ford with regards to pricing.

Every dealer sets their own pricing because they are an independent business working under a franchise agreement with Ford.

I got lucky with my '22 Lightning at MSRP but I waited 430 days after reserving.
My incoming '23 MME will also be MSRP less $6000 PCO with an approximate 300 days of waiting.

Looking at the new GMC Sierra Denali EV truck that was unveiled recently - at the bottom of my reservation it says "Dealer sets final price".

MSRP is $107,000 but at the end of the day, it's the dealer that sets the price - not the manufacturer.

This is reality.
