I ordered the day that orders opened, but I didn't reserve until mid-January. Maybe a later reservation date is a reason for the later build date? I'm excited for the car, but how am I supposed to wait 3+ months?!

just got my email for build date, 1/11/21!! So exciting!

Maybe truck load. If they assign a truck for a priority reservation, they match other order from that same area from early to latest. So someone that has a late order but early build is because he’s matched with someone with early reservation.

This shows that there is apparently no rhyme or reason for the scheduling of these builds. My number is 40xxx so you'd think mine would be scheduled before yours. I'm also in SC so that means they don't seem to be doing it by region as far as grouping orders together. I got a 1/18 build date which is fine with me so I'll get the $7500 tax credit on my 2021 taxes.

Do you know what your priority code was? I bugged my dealership enough where they were ready to get rid of me I think and got it scheduled early.

The scheduling defies logic as we all know it. I received build date of Feb 8 this morning ; I know of someone with a reservation made few weeks earlier than me (ordered same day as me), but RWD instead of my AWD and their dealer is 3 miles away from mine. They dont have any date yet - if anything normally I would have expected that order to be earlier or same week as mine. But no date yet.

So is that pretty much how everyone obtains the VIN? By emailing the dealer? I have not been able to get my dealer to respond to any of my emails. I think I have sent a total of 15 or so emails between reservation and now.

Enlighten me.

Although not perfect, I haven't seen anything that off by more than a month from reservation order (maybe 2 considering in location), although there does seem to be a few that have lucky earlier dates (probably from higher priority set by dealer). Also sounds like any US FE (including Machdrop) will be built in January at the latest. Having building order off by +/- a month from reservation is way better than Tesla did with the Model 3.

We have also seen dates move up. I don't think we seen any dates move back. That might mean more good news for those with later dates.

Well I'm so sad of seeing what was suppose to be a linear wait in line of reservations/orders that is now being a real roller coaster of anything. I'm sorry I'm just looking at those 100000 numbers going by and I can't stop thinking that even if in Canada we didn't have reservatioon number that at least the date would be something to refer too, which for me would place me around the 32,000 numbers. I still have hopes for a build date in January for a March delivery, cause in March we will have the new federal government budget will might give us a surprise in the incentives for EV, specially in regards of the Mach-E, who knows. Keep smiling.

You should state your date instead of number. Ford said the reservation numbers don't matter, it's the reservation date that is used for ordering.

My reservation date was 01/10/2020 and the dealer made the order end of june.
