I currently hold a reservation for the Chevy Blazer SS EV. Waiting to see if it materializes in 2023.

This might make me a convert. I’m moving cross country in a few months and trying to decide if I should sell and buy new in CA, or if I should drive/ship my cars over.

this definitely adds something to consider.

So for the same price as my GT I could get faster 0-60, higher top speed and more horse power. The downside of Ford calling the MME a Mustang is that there is some expectation of performance. Kia on the other hand doesn’t have that yet it seems they are going out of their way to provide it.
I just don’t understand why Ford didn’t do the same with the GT. Yeah I know 120 is plenty top speed and yeah the 5 second limit doesn’t affect most people at all but from a reputation perspective, why would they allow a GT MUSTANG to be released with these performance limitations? Clearly Tesla and now Kia can do it. Why can’t Ford?

The performance is awesome but the range is too poor for me to consider trading for it. There are a couple highways stretches of ~170 miles between EA stations that I regularly drive and there is no chance this car will make it in the winter. Probably not even in the summer unless you leave with 100% SoC. That fast charging is only helpful if you can reach the fast chargers.

Most reviews mention that the handling is still pretty soft, and not at the same level as a i4 M50 or the Taycan.

Good luck finding a KIA dealer that will sell one of these to you without ADM that will have the price approaching 6 figures....

IMO, no matter the price or the performance, it is still butt ugly. (Subjective, I know)

200mi EPA range is just too damn short for road tripping, especially if there are no chargers between home and your destination. In my GT, I can do 170mi of hilly interstate in 32F & gusty winds using 80% SOC but that same drive would leave almost zero margin in the Kia. EV6 GT needs 85-90kWh to make it a better road tripper.

The Kia’s charging speed advantage gets negated by its paltry range. I figure the EV6 gets an 8 minute head start at every charging stop. It takes the EV6 GT 26 mins to go 10% to 90% (~160 EPA miles). MME GTPE’s same 160 EPA miles takes 34 mins to go 10% to 71%.

a German reviewer says he prefers MME GTPE over the EV6 GT. That was even after doing WOT on the autobahn.
