Yeah that's a non-starter. I was planning on trading my GT-Line for the GT but with that sort of range, even if I could improve it with smaller wheels/tires, that rating is going to kill the resale value of the vehicle. Couple that with the loss of tax credit and I'm going to have to pass on that dream.

Not sure you need a GT version
Carwow in UK tested id4 GTX vs Premium Mach E AWD vs Kia mid range AWD and the Kia smoked both the id4 and Mach E.

I wonder how the Mach E GT would do in same race?

The MME GT would come out of the hole hard, then fall on its face after something around 5 seconds. It would probably beat the Kia in ET, but the Kia would beat it in trap time. The GT version of the Kia would beat the MME GT. ??

The MME GT-PE would beat them all on the braking from 100-0. Super big front rotors and sticky tires. ??

Regen? Anyone’s guess but I think the Kia would win there. ??

The 206 mile range is preliminary. The WLTP rating is 263 miles. Based on prior WLTP to EPA rating conversions I think it’s safe to say the EV6 GT could end up
At 225-230 miles of EPA rated range. Perhaps. At that point it’s the same as what the GTPE was originally rated at so I’m thinking you’d have plenty of takers.

At 206 though….

No more $7500 tax credit on the EV6, BTW.

Other trims of the EV6 have fallen short of their EPA estimates in the range tests I’ve seen. If the GT does end up at 206 and follows that trend… yikes.

I have a Telluride (which has been great) and I really like what Kia is doing in general. Talk about a brand that is reinventing itself with some impressive vehicles. But as much as I tried, I couldn't convince myself to appreciate the looks of the EV6, especially the rear of it.

For me it's that low sloped roofline that turns me off. Plus it's just too short period (height-wise). The Mach-E is as short as I'd go. Even then I wish it was about 3" taller. But the EV6 is 3" shorter than the MME. That's a total deal-breaker for me.

Mach-E > EV6
I’m 6’3”, and my head hit the headliner in the WV6
That said, I’ll rarely sit in the back.
My oldest son, on the other hand, is 6’4”. We did a trial run in the Mach-E with the glass roof. No problem for the big boy.

They also somehow managed 150mi in a Mini SE. I've never heard of anyone getting that.
Edmund’s test loop involves lower speed city driving. My go-to for range tests is InsideEVs 70 mph test. The EV6 did not perform well there. All the Mach-E’s did though.
