For everyone wondering where the list is, just ask your dealer if they sold more than 25 F-150 Lightnings and Mach E vehicles in the last year. I know that when I was looking for my car 8/10 actually wanted to work to sell me one. I assume that those that didn’t have not signed up for this.

The dealer I got mine from sold 10 Lightning/Mach E in the same week that I picked up mine, so I feel pretty good about my decision.

There is a dealer in Anchorage with quite a ew dealerships in many states that may opt in due to their national presence. Otherwise I agree. Hawaii is probably in the same boat.

With 2/3 of the dealers already opting in at the high level, I don’t think any legal resistance is practical. I don’t see dealer associations supporting it if their member dealers have already signed up to be Model e dealers. Dealers aren’t being forced to sign up to be Model E dealers.

Wow, a lot more than I expected signed up. I figured it would be about 1000 dealers but it's twice that. Maybe there is an option to drop out if they don't meet the expected infrastructure targets in time, and perhaps a lot of dealers are going to bail out in the next year if they can't make it happen?

The cool thing is this will dramatically expanded the DCFC network into rural areas, and where there would otherwise be no incentives or political motivation to install a DCFC. Imagine if approximately half the dots in the image above were DCFC stations. That's starting to look like a decent charge network!

Compare to the current 120 kW+ CCS network:

I had that same thought. Might be one of those "opt in now just in case" but I wonder if there's an easy out if they decide not to proceed?

Seems like an awfully high commit rate without something else compelling within the equation.

On top of this, I'd definitely rather know that the location I'm bringing my EV to be serviced has the necessary equipment and knowledgebase to do so rather than winging it and jacking my shit up. Even if I wouldn't pay for it monetarily, time is not recompensable, and time lost due to careless/avoidable damages is definitely not preferred.

I suspect we'll be fine here in Hawaii, because electric vehicles are ridiculously popular here. Strong solar, short distances, horrible traffic, and no winter range loss make Hawaii the strongest environment for an electric vehicle to shine. Electricity is expensive without solar power, sure, but so is gas... my Ford dealer seems to be selling Mach-E's pretty regularly, and I'd guess all three on my island are aware of the trends and don't want to miss out on those sales; I'd guess they also don't want to limit themselves to only being able to sell 25 electric vehicles per year.

By comparison, Alaska seems like it would be the worst environment for electric vehicles. Potentially long distances to drive through remote areas (I'm guessing); long and extremely cold winters; expensive electricity and... well, I guess gas isn't exactly cheap up there, either. Based on Norway's experience, I don't doubt that EVs can be viable even in Alaska, but I'm guessing you don't run across too many EVs up there, do you? By comparison, I'm pretty sure that on my daily commute I run across more EVs than I can count on all of my fingers and toes - and they're not all Teslas anymore!

Where can be find a list.. or is it included in one of those links? I'd love to know what my local dealers decided.
The same team responsible for publishing the BlueCruise map will also be publishing the certified dealer map. So expect it Q1 20Soon.

I think driving to a dealership to DCFC is weird. The only downside of EV ownership is we’re still expected to do some awfully weird stuff when road tripping.

Ford obviously spent a great deal of time planning this with legal counsel. They are confident they aren't going to have major problems doing this, so it will be interesting to see which states challenge them, and then whether they care or not.

Clearly there are states that, today, Ford couldn't give a rat's ass ablut from an EV perspective. Easy ones to pick out are less populous states with no charging infrastructure. I suspect states like North and South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, and West Virginia will always be inconsequential EV states for example.

It’s just another dot on the map. If it’s the most convenient dot, then it isn‘t weird.

Hawaii is probably in the same boat.
The Oahu dealers are far more likely to opt in than the other islands — 75% of the state’s population is on Oahu. The other islands are a big question mark. The markets are small, very small in some cases. The only dealer on this island has been uncharacteristically quiet when I asked if they signed up.

Is not part of the pressure to go EV Elite is the growing demand for EVs and government desire to reduce reliance on oil? Oil that is creating much of our climate change and contributed to our going to war with Iraq twice.
The Big Oil companies shot themselves in the foot with their massive gas price increases this last year. It pushed more people to consider going BEV faster than they would have before. We will see this most with people and organizations with fixed budgets that had trouble paying the increase in gas prices. Electricity prices, in most places, are controlled by the states. The states slow down increases stabilizing prices. Not seeing prices jump large amounts overnight is a major consideration if you are fueling a fleet of trucks, buses and cars. The writing is on the wall that our nation is going electric despite what conservatives claim.
Remember that we are in the second stage of BEV adoption. The early adopters were the first stage with all those short range electric city cars without any chargers. Now, in the second stage, you can buy cars that fill most peoples needs. Owning a BEV can still be an adventure. We are starting to see BEVs appear filling other needs. We are starting to see BEV pickups, commercial vans, and even medium duty trucks, semi's, and school buses. We are promised we will see more BEVs of different kinds and price points in the future. We will see improvements in the charging infrastructure with the new infrastructure law. The problems we see today will be addressed. Albeit too slow for some and too fast for others.
