Bummed - dealer confirmed 12/11-14 ETA just yesterday, Ford tracking changed this evening to 1/9-15. If that holds, there goes my tax break.
Update - FC this morning " I am unable to track a live location once a order is in transit. I do show the last location was  Ramp 6U, Muncie, KS. However, this is not a live location. The estimated delivery is for  Jan-15-2023. " Provided a railcar # and I called NS to trace. They indicate the railcar is in Hapeville GA this afternoon. Maybe I'll see the car next week after all?

Just got a text from my dealer with the attached vin view update. Sounds like it’s been loaded onto a rail car and will finally (hopefully) be leaving KC. ETA is 12/24, which is within my original window. Just happy to now be receiving proactive texts from my dealer.

Last update from ford chat on 11/30
I am showing your vehicle is in transit and was shipped via convoy: 1362846244 (Jack Cooper Transport ). I show an estimated delivery date of 1/9/2023. We cannot see the current location since it is being shipped convoy right now
I am in nj and my update as of wed was still on a ramp in kc. What dealer are you using?

My 11/7 build week MME, batch 9259 652/1034, which actually went In Production 11/15 was finally signed off as Built on 12/8.

My dealer called me yesterday and overnight I got an email from Ford. Original delivery estimate was Dec 12th to Dec 18th. New estimated delivery date is Jan 4th to Jan 10th. No shipping information yet.

Looks like no $7500 tax credit for me.

Well folks, my "Mach E" just arrived. After Ford clearly demonstrated their incompetence, I decided to test drive a Model 3 Performance and I was blown away with how high quality of a vehicle it actually is and how comfortable it is. Ford will never match the software quality of Tesla. And, Tesla has a $4K sale on M3 and MY right now. So, I just bought this beauty. $66K out the door.

The best part of it, Tesla let me take this out on *2* over-night test drives. I was able to make sure that this 100% meets my comfort and space requirements. With the Mach E, I was taking a leap of faith that I would like it based on 10 minutes of a dealer letting me sit in it in the showroom.

if i were you i would inspect this car very carefully before giving them the money. i have one of these; the glass roof is misaligned and almost every panel join is crooked. when i back out of my driveway and go over the soft curb, the whole car flexes and creaks. the first time this happened i thought the roof was going to pop off the car.

also once you take delivery you will never be able to talk to anyone about any problems unless you are able to go to a service center. when i took mine in they had 3 things to fix and only fixed one. it's worth going down to look at the service center actually - mine is always full of cars.

don't get me wrong, it's the most powerful and elegant/minimalistic car i've ever driven. and the software updates just keep coming, are seamless, and have improved with each release. the phone as a key never fails. but the mechanicals on these cars are, well, junk.

oh - the wheels are curb rash magnets. I've seen these plastic rim protectors for this car and those might be a good investment.

On Monday I contacted the dealer parts department thinking I would order some items and pick them up with the car. Guy on the phone said all warehouses show no stock so I have no idea when they would arrive.

As such I figured I would save myself a trip to the dealer by ordering them from the Ford accessories site.

And about 30 minutes ago …

I now have my windshield cover, rear bumper scratch protector, roadside assistance kit and first aid kit.

Me thinks Ford needs a major overhaul on their logistics and IT systems.

Thanks for the great tips. Thankfully my office is right behind a Tesla Service Center (which I took advantage of quite a bit when I owned my Model S). I really wanted to fall in love with the Mach E. I really did. But at the end of the day, it was going to be an unknown quantity, and Ford's handling of the order process did nothing to give me confidence.

Last little benefit of the Tesla - free electricity to fuel the car forever. Because my office is right next to the Tesla service center, i've taken advantage of pulling up to their slow chargers in the morning and plugging my previous Model S in, and picking the car up at night with the "tank" full. Its only $9 to fill up, but for the amount of driving that I do to take the kids to and from school, it adds up quick.

I'm curious, in the course of 3 days you went from "this gives me a lot of hope" to "all is lost." Then it went downhill fast after that. Were you ever able to get a definitive location on the car from your dealer? What is your current ETA?

i hear you. i know that i'm going to be disappointed in the software side of the MME. beyond that i expect that the ford will be a little better mechanically. but who knows. ford certainly has had a lot of quality problems in the recent past.

so i guess these don't negotiate with the car the way a supercharger would? there's no more free supercharging with the M3 at least. didn't you get free supercharging with the S?

The over night test drives from Tesla are a great way to really test out a car instead of the usually 15-30 minutes. And they come to our house to fix warranty issues. We have dropped it off at the service center before too but more often than not they come here. It's had it's problems but it's no worse overall than any other car we've owned. My husband loves to drive his Model S and that in the end is what matters. It's a really great car and I'm glad that you got something that you are happy with :)

My daughter asked me the same thing. She said "dad, you have wanted Fire (what I named the car) for 8 months. Arent you sad to change your mind"? And I said to her that when the facts change, you have to change with them.

Ford Chat is still telling me 12/6 - 12/12 delivery, though they still say the last position is in MO with no transport assigned. They tell me to call my dealer for details. I call my dealer and they tell me that they dont know where the car is and that I should call Ford. This, to me, is unacceptable and is a reflection of how they will treat me after the purchase should anything go wrong. I've given these guys 8 months to get the order right, and they have failed me at every step. People that ordered the same configuration just 3 months ago and are also in California have already received their car. Does this sound like a company that deserves my trust and $80K of my money. To that, I say "no".

Software is really important to me. Once you try the SW on the Tesla, Ford's just looks un-refined. As an example, Tesla has integrated dash cams, sentry mode, mirror projections in the screen. Its unrealistic that Ford would add so much value to their car over its lifetime.

Right, the Tesla slow-chargers dont negotiate with the Supercharger network, so it does not charge $$$. I did have lifteime superchargint on the MS, but I didnt want to stress the battery by supercharging too often.

Yeah, I get the fact that the manufacturing and delivery processes are frustrating for many reasons. If you have followed any of my recent posts, I have a damaged car that is trailing other cars to my dealer by a week or more despite being much higher in the supposed batch order. Likely, I will not take delivery of my car either, but time will tell on that.

But, you seem to be working with a really bad dealership. As frustrating as this process has been, at least our dealership has been responsive and has provided all of us with location updates. And it is not clear how they "have not gotten the order right?" Just trying to understand your situation a little better.

Just checked tracking. Now shows "Notification ground only Avon lake Dec 10 at 10:45am" so that would seem it's waiting for unload and truck carry I would assume.

One step closer!
My car (22, shipped 10/12) has been in Avon Lake since 11/30 waiting to go an hourish to the dealership. My "new" estimated delivery date is 12/11-12/17. For my dealer it sounds like ~2 weeks from Avon to the dealership is not unusual.
