Steeda Front Sway Bar! It is awesome. Transforms the car into what it should be.

I put a thick coat inside the bushing that has ridges to hold grease and even coat the bar. It may be overkill but I'd rather have more than not enough. I use a little over one container for all four bushings.
I used less than one container. Maybe 3/4 of a container for both front and back. It seemed like a lot at the time.

Like the others, my front seems to squeak when it’s cold and not squeak when it’s warmer. Probably a viscosity control issue with the grease Steeda supplied. Since my rear bar was missing the grease, I used the same marine grease I use on the suspension bearings on my Trans Am. No squeaking yet in the rear. @markboris was nice enough to give me a container or two of the PolyBushings grease so I will try that in front once I finish some household projects. ??

As far as that SuperLube goes, I have used it in other applications in the past. It’s a petroleum and synthetic blend that seems to work best with rigid surfaces that have some clearance. ??

I just finished Re-greasing my front bushings. Urethane is a crappy bushing material, but we use what they supply. I used my marine grease on the bushings. ??

Anyhow, since I had it apart, I fixed it so that the fronts would not need to be disassembled again if they needed greasing. I added zerk fittings to the brackets and drilled channels in the bushings, so they’re now like my Blazer’s bushings (which have never squeaked and I’ve only greased 3 times in over 200K miles). ??

I also added blue grease caps to make them look better. ??

The zerk fittings are clocked so that they can be accessed without pulling anything apart. Jack car up, turn steering, pump grease gun. ??

EDIT: I should note that the grease supplied with the bars had become hard and sticky. Probably the reason they started squeaking. ??

Dude, after Mark, you are my hero. What you did is awesome.

I am getting increasingly annoyed by the squeak but finding time to fix it is very frustrating. My fake car sound speaker is disconnected so what do people hear when I approach? Arrg! Well not that, but that is what I feel.

You know what I like about the new sound? It tells me when the sway bar is moving. Which is a lot more than I expected. Maybe Ford was smarter than Steeda by designing a bar that has a bushing that needs no lubrication.

Heh, my suspension mentor really hated urethane as a bushing material, partially because of the squeaking, partially because of low load yield, partially because it still deflects (not as much as rubber, but it deflects). I'm not up to making pillow blocks and sizing some NyLiners right now, so adding 90° zerks makes sense. ?‍♂?

The last couple of days I've had a squeak in the front end which was not real loud but it was there. I could only hear it if the music was off. Ended up being the drivers side, end link at the bottom. Unfortunately I loaned out my grease gun so could not add grease to see if that would stop the squeak but I hope so otherwise I'll be buying Whiteline end links which are all I have ever used on my other cars.

My follow up to the above post from a couple days ago.

I got my grease gun back from being loaned out and removed both front sway bar end links. The ends on both of them were very stiff to move. No wonder why they were squeaking! I shot about 2 1/2 pumps of grease into each end until the boot just started to expand. I put the nut on the end and used pliers to move the rod back and forth to work the grease in. Didn't take more than a couple movements and they were very easy and smooth to move in any direction by hand.

Im sure my end links had very little to no grease in them and I would have thought that Steeda supplied us with end links ready to install. There was no mention in the instructions on greasing them prior to install. This concerns me as I've help several other members install their sway bars and I am willing to bet they will need greasing soon also. I have my front suspension apart at the moment so it was not an issue for me to remove them but the good thing is, you don't have to as long as your grease gun has a flexible hose.

Have people had issues with the rear bar or just the front one?

The rear bar uses the factory end links. I do not have a squeaking from my rear one. I am now noticing a creak from my front again, which I know can't be the frame bushings since I greased the crap out of them when I put them in, then shot more in using the zerk fittings. This is with the same grease I use on my suspension bearings and the anit-sway bar bushings on my Blazer (>200K with no squeaks and 3 lube jobs). Mine must be the end links too. ??

Nuts. Off come the front wheels again. Not really into doing this in the rain. ??

LOL Thanks. At least the gun I am using for my marine grease has a flex hose on it. My regular moly gun has a hard pipe. ??

Heh, Mark. I’m not really into putting the car up in the air while it’s raining. I suspect they are either dry or darned near there. I can’t find my 90 degree coupler so I ordered another one (might be one of those things I loaned out that never made it back). Looks like I might get a break on Monday. I will try to lube them all up then. I shouldn’t need to pull the wheels if I have the coupler, just turn them. ??

I thought those Steeda front end links looked a bit dry so I greased them during the sway bar installation.
